Police say that on two occasions last May Geisel had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old former student -- on May 15 at her former residence in Latham and then again on May 28 inside the press box at the Christian Brothers Academy athletic field.

Yeah, lots of children want to do things that are harmful to their emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. That's why parents should be there acting like parents and not frat pals.

The most famous of the recent spate of teachers who have given extracurricular attention to a pupil is, of course, Mary Kay LeTourneau (sp?). When the original story broke, reporters-- mainstream and those here on FR-- nearly cornered the market on embroidery needles in the rush to fashion a scarlet "P" (for pervert) on her prison clothes. She spent seven years in prison plus a bunch of time awaiting trial, during all of which she was instructed to stay away from her "victim."
Well, after all the hoo-rah died down and she was finally released to attempt a normal life, she married her victim. All those same reporters quickly made the profound observation that the marraige wouldn't last.
Maybe not. But the relationship has already lasted longer than many marraiges. Maybe, just maybe they love each other. Now, whether the teacher responsible for this thread is (or was) in love with her pupil isn't anything I would or could know about. I suspect the same is true for all of you who have posted your opinions here.
But that's the nice thing about opinions: Knowledge and facts aren't required for their formulation.

LOL...you must not be married and middle aged. I have NEVER heard of a married middle aged man who was faithful to his wife complain of "getting too much".
This woman like the others...runs a bit hot and uses poor judgment. I'm sure the teenaged boys are grateful for that.
The hoopla and calls for her execution are interesting blowback from the successes of fembotism in my opinion.

That's it!!! I am suing the school district where I grew up. Man, we were deprived of this life experience learning opportunity.
Its not a matter of wanting it...It is a matter of what it does to the kids later in life.. I mean at 12 i was curious about it but damn didnt realize how bad its screwed me up till the last 2 years or so.
