Did I miss a news story somewhere? Befuddled, I be.

Referring to the Correspondents' dinner and Laura's salty jokes. I am imagining her pressing George to nominate a woman and he saying "Laura you cost me with the base with that lovely vision of me pleasuring a horse, so you can forget this little request...maybe if you go speak at Bob Jones I'll consider a babe for the Rehnquist seat"

Hey, wait a minute. You were trashing the President earlier today! Can't you at least be consistent when you are wrong...wrong...wrong? :-)

Have we really gotten 8 of 10? Who is still waiting for confirmation?

I hadn't followed it.

I was quite angry at the cave, because I saw it as part of a pattern of misconduct. But the President restored my confidence in his domestic leadership this evening.
When crunch time came, he did the right thing.
Bless him.

Pryor is weak. He never should have consented to be on TV because he looks like an idiot who can't think for himself.

If Bush had a strategy, I would suspect that he surfaced Clement for this very reason, to get the GOP Leadership behind him on this nomination and the only way to do that was to let them hear the roar of the lion.

Very interesting theory. I think you might be right.

Why shouldn't Roe be repealed? The issue is whether the people through their elected representatives or judges are going to decide the issue. It's not hard case to make that it should, especially in light of the fact the Constitution doesn't address the issue.

Fox News sucks.

I walked in and watched for five solid minutes (Carl Cameron interviewing Sem Cornyn)...and NOT ONCE did they name John Roberts

If his name was 'this candidate' or 'this man', then Carl and company did indeed call him by his name...about 50 times in the past 5 minutes.

I had no earthly who they were talking about until i turned on the computer and came here.

Did I say Fox News sucks?

I think FReepers, of ALL STRIPES, tonight are united, the first time in a long time, on any single issue.

The battle lines are drawn.

Let the liberals and America haters and atheists and gay marriage crowd bring it on; we will blacken their faces with our musket powder and send them a' runnin'.

Well, they've had things the way they've liked them for far too long, but "the times they are a changing" as they say!

It's incredible that the abortion crowd assumes as an absolute truth that if legal abortion were difficult, millions of women and girls would do literally anything to scrape their wombs in 'back alleys'.

I think they would find that if legal abortion was difficult, millions of American babies would be born. Most would be kept and loved, others would be adopted. All of those 'tissue lumps' would turn out to be people, though. American people. Just like us.

What if legal breast enlargement were made difficult? Would millions of women and girls run to 'back alleys' and to Mexico to have dirty hacks do their implants? I think not.

He looks crazy. That is enough to tell me he'll be acceptable to the arch-Religious Conservatives.

According to this blogger (see below) Scalia called Roberts "far and away the best Supreme Court litigator in the country"

Wow! Thank you for that information. If Scalia sings his praises, Judge Roberts must be brilliant.

Well, it looks like it's back to dirty coat hangers and back alley abortions. :) Hehe!

He's for banning all coathangers except plastic ones. He's that extreme. hehehe.

Bless you my brother from another mother. With a little luck we can get Judge Janice Rogers Brown bumped up to SCOTUS and show how a sensible (black) woman should rule, judicially.

PS: Here in my town we have a blues club, "The Rynborn" which is owned by a guy you might have heard of - Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson. He used to play with Muddy Waters way back and can be seen for a moment in the Blues Brother movie.

Take care and keep a'pickin.

If this is true, I'm glad it's a white male.

And that's coming from a Black male!

Although, I would have been happy with Ms. Brown.

Blues...comming from a white guy from Texas I would have preferred Ms. Brown too, she is one cool jurist. Perhaps she will follow Reinquist...! However John Roberts is a homerun, and will piss off Teddy. Peace.

Put down the bong and back away from the keyboard.

Oh c'mon. VISUALIZE Michael Savage as Chief Justice. Left-wing attorneys having nervous breakdowns under his vicious assaults; a newly-added dungeon in the SCOTUS for those held in contempt by Judge Savage, a 8-foot high Ten Commandments in the entrance to the Court; a ban on any lawyers with the ACLU or Lawyer's Guild from presenting cases, etc. It would be wonderful.
