You are right, of course, but I am thinking that the MSM and the dems WILL characterize it as that...
hopefully, not, but we will see!

Sure would be great revenge on the media. Leak one name and announce another so the media looks even more foolish.
Not very nice to Ms. Clement but...

Judge Saul is a FLA Judge who ruled against Gore in 2000.

Anyone think it's possible that the leak has already occurred, and it is in fact Clement? Hope not, but one never knows these days.

You'd have to ask John McCain...that's where Graham's getting all his thoughts these days.

No fair using a glamour shot of Clement and a candid workday shot of Jones!

I saw it. He had a few good lines. But that is also so obviously an historic moment. And obviously he has scores of speechwriters to make it sound like he has imagination.
He doesn't have the capacity to see that this is equally historic and ina sense more so, since this person will sit on scotus for a generation.
To: tiredoflaundry; Mo1
I find it odd that he will announce during "prime time"That's because he wants to get the greatest reaction from the Dems. when he renominates Bork!

I expect him to nominate someone as conservative as he promised to nominate -- someone in the Scalia, Thomas mold, LIKE HE PROMISED TO DO.
Why is it that Bill Clinton can name the most far left-wing justices imaginable with little resistance but a Republican President can't do the same thing>
Breaking the promise to appoint a Scalia-like originalist is not excusable or forgiveable, whenever that fact becomes known.

Give it a rest. Chief Justice Rehnquist is not going to live to see the 2008 Election. His cancer, unfortunately, is that virulent.

You don't announce a SCOTUS pick in primetime....wonder if it's another announcement? What no-notice announcement would be done in prime-time? The only two things in the hopper are SCOTUS and Leakgate (with Rove all-but-absolved, I'm going with the more-general and -accurate name); and I don't see Leakgate breaking today.

GW doesn't have it to bring on a true conservative. At 9 P.M. GWB nominates a member of the Federalist Society for SCOTUS.

Is Clement married? What does her husband do? awd help us if he's a lawyer. The Dems will want to see every case he's ever worked on..
