I agree with you about abortion being murder. But you guys have to get a grip! You don't have enemies here, quit acting like you do.

but yeah, I think we have to sit and wait. I won't be calling at this late hour, but in case somebody else felt like it, I thought I would post the number (it isn't some secret one....results.gov has an appointee directory in which it lists info about different appointments and their office numbers).

CNN John King reporting that Luttig is ruling on a case today in VA and his wife anf kids are at the courthouse with him all dressed nicely

"Are there any writings by the Founders concerning abortion and their positions on it?"
Excellent question.
I've challenged pro-abortion legal eagles to cough up something on it, and they can't. Like I said before, IMHO, it was literally an unspeakable evil back then, just as bestiality was, and satanism. The thought of it being legal didn't cross their minds, I think.
The perfect example would be how killing a pregnant woman was considered to be a double homicide in some states. If what I'm claiming is false, then women would have openly told the public that they had an abortion back then. I doubt you would find many examples, except for women locked up in insane asylums.

Is there anything worth reading on this thread, or is it filled with the usual doom and gloomers ranting about how Bush isn't going to appoint a judge that is a perfect conservative?Cautious optimism seems to be the general mood around here as people discover more about Clement.

("Small-government conservative" is a redundancy, and "compassionate conservative" is an oxymoron.)

Maybe it represents what the dims said they were gonna do...go nuclear!!!! if they didn't like Bushs' nominee.
To: Howlin
WOT and Judges were responsible for the election of the President and the Republican Majority.
Two groups made that majority possible. Whether the people that stayed home in 2000 made the difference, or whether it was new influx of voterss motivated by these two issues, isn't a point that ultimately matters. What I know is that both were motivating issues that made the difference.
It resulted in an election that could have been another 2000, instead being settled the day after. That cushion of voters prevented another nightmare of drawn out court battles.

If it's an archconservative woman she won't REALLY be a woman.

Well good! I just think that getting hysterical before the pick is counter-productive, I trust President Bush. It will be OK.

I don't mind the President doing it his way. I trust him. He has not let me down yet. So he hasn't let you down in his massive growth of the government? So massive and fast has the growth been that he exceeds all previous Presidents except one. LBJ.
Bush has disappointed me and let me down on many matters.

Goler(sp) on Fox said the reports that it's Clemont are premature.....that Bush keeps these things close to the vest.....he did make me spit up a little when he compared Clemont to O'Conner. yuck
So we wait.
To: defconw
Exactly.
I am not worried. He has done some things I disagree with in non-judicial areas, but his judicial picks are solid.
Why would he screw up in the most important one?
