ABC News Radio-10:00 CST-Bush has decided on Supreme Court nominee. Spector called to WH tonight to discuss. Expected to be "mainstream".
Jones is definetely the better of the two Ediths.
Thank you.
Well grounded, like the time he found Scottish Law to his liking?
Alito is still my guy. I think this pick will be a woman though. Alito will be next.
Great post!
oh I hope yer right , Edith Jones
Not even in Texas? Learn to think instead of impersonating a troll.
Cheers! Full Disclosure: Yes, I read your about page, which is why I wrote "impersonating".
Those are decent enough.
You were questioning the originalist?
Do you consider yourself that?
I have done some rethinking and probably would confess to not being upset with a conservative "activist" court.
I know many folks hate that here but if we live by stare decis alone then it will be a very long road back an activist left leaning court that has been problematic for the most part since the New Deal.
Have you and I had this conversation before?
I would be happy with an Originalist stare decis court after we get back to sanity...lol
Because Congress would have to authorize the money and resources to do so. But don't let facts get in the way of your Bush hatred.
LOL! How about Donny Osmond?

It says nothing. The senate let many Justices pass in the first year because G.W.B. played on their weakness of appointing minorities, women, etc..
When the Democrats figured out his strategy, the filibusters began to layer one upon another.
Can you point to any original research that you posted 10 days ago in which you raised serious questions about Clement?
Oh, you can't? Color me shocked.
Look, she may not be a conservative since her record is scarce (though she is a Fed Soc member), but there is no evidence she isn't one. This is all speculation. And, with the gusto that folks went after Gonzales, how the frick could you have screwed up and not bothered to research Clement when the two Ediths have been rumored for weeks? I guess I don't get how only now Clement is suddenly the "new Gonzales" to be freaked out about when 2 days ago, she was the great new conservative to replace that liberal O'Connor. Two days ago, Clement was savior. Now she is the new Souter? Make up your damn mind.
Yet I have seen nothing but "please let us have one of the two Ediths" until this thread. Nobody until now has questioned if she was conservative or not. Until this thread when it appears she may be the pick...and then the attack dogs come out.
Man, human psychology is awesome stuff. It would be helpful if people like you would raise your concerns when they might make a difference and result in substantive debate and examination instead of just cause hysteria.
This kind of crap is exactly why the SCOTUS needs to be disbanded completely. It really is causing mass hysteria. One day people are talking about a candidate as if she is the next Scalia, and then once she has a real chance of getting in there, everybody starts freaking out crying "Souter!"
Well, which is it? Good grief.
then what?
I asked because I'm trying to weed thru the proactive versus originalist arguments here
Of course he isn't, this is a bs post.
The Clement nomination was paired with the Pickering nomination. I wonder how much the lack of opposition by the Dems was because they were distracted by their slanderous attacks on Judge Pickering.
Here is a little quiz. Where was R v W originated? I'll help you out, it was a suit brought in TEXAS. Abortion was legal in Texas BUT it had several restrictions. That was the entire basis of R v W. So before you go throwing out the word troll to your betters at least do it with a bit of knowledge.
let's wait and see what Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham have to say. I trust their opinion on this, especially Levin.
True dat.
