Top editors of the NY TIMES made the decision Monday afternoon to turn up the heat on White House adviser Karl Rove.
The TIMES is planning to lead with calls for Rove's resignation, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT. MORE...
Who knows, but you know it's not Karl Rove. If it was Rove, she would have blabbed a long time ago.
Sounds to me like the evil genius has the NYT playing
rope-a-dope.
Once upon a time our side would be in trouble, but it's hard to take the dinosaur seriously when it's up to its waist in a tarpit.
More relevant to this case: We need to shout loud, or at least persistently, not to look insane like the DUmmies, that it is Valarie Plame who needs to resign for sending her husband on a mission to cook intelligence data to fit their political ideology.
If what Plame and Wilson cooked up isn't illegal, it sure as shoot ought to be.
Good point. The focus of any of this must be on who Novak's source was.
If they locked up anyone who spoke to the media on "background" in D.C., half of the city would be in the clink.
Meanwhile, the NYT was 100% behind leaking classified info in the Pentagon Papers case and cheered Deepthroat like a conquering Caesar.
When I got the call, I would give 5 or 6 reasons why I had no interest.
My husband, however, would simply say "Why in the HELL would I want to subscribe to your stupid paper?" and then hang up.
Got it.
BIASED! They are not in the business of news anymore if they ever were.
In thinking of Gregory I will always remember Florida 2000 when David Bloom was one of the lead NBC reporters. James Baker would always let him ask a question and, if my memory serves me, he always seemed to ask substancial questions and actually came across as an honest journalist (as much as possible). Again my memory of Baker always calling on him seemed to create such an impression.
Bloom died in Iraq and I remember being so bummed. Whether he was an overall liberal or not he had an aura that was the hallmark of a good reporter - a questionable political allegiance.
David Bloom - RIP
Actually, I do have some ideas. Since it is known that Rove didn't commit any crime, even if he did talk about Wilson be suggested by his wife, we have to assume that the prosecutor is going after someone who did break a law. It could be someone who perjured themselves or someone at the CIA who was talking about things other than Valerie Plame's identity. The prosecutor has said that he wants to hear about other subjects that the source spoke about. Now we all know that Miller is in trouble for another leak from the CIA, so it could be the same source, inside the CIA that the prosecutor is targetting. Valerie Plame, herself???? Joe Wilson, with info from his wife????
"it is Valarie Plame who needs to resign for sending her husband on a mission to cook intelligence data to fit their political ideology"
Signal-to-noise ratio has already drowned this out. Plame is now the "victim," no matter what.
I think Gregory has never gotten over it. In fact, I think we should send Gregory nasty notes in French, just to let him know we haven't forgotten what a jerk he is.
Oh wow. Do you have a link to that info? Thanx
ROVE FOR CHIEF JUSTICE!
I'll bet Chris Shays calls for it first.
Because they truly believe they have something of substance. Unfortunately substance can weigh a lot and the Clinton years have left the left too weak to put up a serious battle.
David was one of the few good guys at the MSM. His death hit hard, miss him to this day.
And then we will hear all the polls telling us the people say Rove should resign.
