The Times sets the agenda for the rest of the nations media. This will have legs for many more days. The Times and the rest of the MSM are playing volleyball with the story trying to keep it from hitting the ground.

Agreed.. we need to shout as loud as we can .. SANDY BURGER.. That man DID knowingly violate federal laws to CYA the clinton admin.

Rove simply pointed out that wilson was sent by his wife and didnt mention her name.

sad.

Good point.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, outside the Beltway understands this story, much less cares about it. I barely understand it, and I'm somewhat of a political / legal junky. Imagine being the average citizen and trying to understand how Karl Rove may have violated an obscure, convoluted law by talking to a reporter.

These guys are wasting paper and ink. All the NYT is doing is throwing red meat to their moon bat left wing base.

You have to work with what you have no matter how bad what you have happens to be. What a pathetic position to be in.

Well no offense but two years ago? If you are a recently departed Dem or just got it for opposition research it would make sense. Either way you are sooooo right.

This is so silly, every one knows that Miller is not sitting in jail to protect Karl Rove.

This is all bogus. Time mag's reporter shedding tears at last minute reprieve by source. Meanwhile Isakoff has his email and is writing it up??? Once again, they're talking about themselves instead of reporting the news. I'll wait for the prosecutor, thanks.

Meanwhile, Show me the story of the Afghan villagers who rescued the American soldier and refused to give him up to the Taliban, why don't they? I know why. It's summr and they want to be at the beach, not not assignment in Afghanistan.

If you watched Chris Matthews you can guess how this is going to go--it's gonna be a full-court press on Rove. The details of the situation are as always going to be glossed over, and the story is going to be broken down to a simplistic formula: Karl Rove revealed the identity of a covert CIA agent. It doesn't matter that that's not the truth, it's the "story".

Rove is asked a question about whether or not CIA or Dick Cheney sent Joe Wilson to Niger.

He tells Cooper, "No. The trip wasn't authorized by DCIA [George Tenet] or Dick Cheney. Rather, Joe Wilson's wife works at CIA and may have authorized the trip".

No name provided. He didn't say anything other than answer a question about the genesis of the trip and didn't authorize the trip.

Talk about media bias gone wild.

Course, most Americans are too stoopid or too involved in American Idol to know the NY Times BS. Course, the major media kooks (ABCCBSNBSCNNDISNEYANDEVENFOX) will cover this as if it's fact that Rove engineered the whole thing.

This is the biggest joke of a story ever. FREEPER Wolfstar chronicled how this is not only a non-story in a very well-researched post: Set up? Anatomy of the contrived Wilson "scandal"

It is pretty clearly a set up to try to bring Bush or parts of his administration (specifically Rove) down.

So, Rove talks to a reporter and never mentions her name. Just remember, Cooper never published his story. How can Rove be the leak if Cooper didn't publish?

There were several things I liked about the Times: their business coverage, their feature articles, their Science Times. Those things kept me in...but as a conservative (since 1976) there was just soooo much I could take (and I lived in NYC for all those years) and I finally cancelled.

They really tried to keep me in with many discount inducements. They failed.
