There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.
There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.
The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.
A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."
British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".
"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.
"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."
One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.
The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.
He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.

The British have been fighting the War on Terror far longer than the USA, unless we're not counting the deaths caused by the "Christian" IRA terror attacks. British resolve is legendary.

That post made me wonder? Where is their hearts??? Here we are talking about it rationally, insulting the very people that caused it, and here they are, bashing a person who has helped America out and now shares our pain. Also, it makes me wonder if they know proper English or even correct knowledge itself.
Here would be the correct way to say what the person should have said, in correct English with correct knowledge.

As far as I know, I don't believe the English had Daisy-Cutters. But I could be mistaken. I'm not that knowledgeable. Although I'm more knowledgeable than any demorat. And most of the stuff I learned about politics and the constitution was here.
Another thing that's bothering me is they seem to be saying that Iraq wasn't in any way affiliated with Al Qaida, so how come England would be targetted by Al Qaida?

I spoke to a friend who was in London last week and she said there were Muslim men in their shorts and sunglasses with their women beside them in burkas. Said she didn't feel at all safe.
What is really amazing is that almost the whole group overslept, right through their alarm clocks.

Bombs in the subway. Takes a while to close down the tubes, get more buses to the stations to move people. Then bomb the buses. Good military tactics it would seem. Also would seem to instill more fear (terror) as it makes one seem that "isn't any place safe?" -- "when will it end?" ---"what is next?"
That said, these terrorists are cowardly scum with just enough brains to rig a bomb and tell time so they can kill innocent men, women and children.

I agree it's unclear just yet. The deal with IRA ASUs (active service units) was that they'd have to sneak into the UK, because all the players that could lead such a cell were known. They'd then go to ground at a safe house, use young unknown players for the legwork and then they'd try to pull off a string of terrorist incidents over a fairly short time, until they either went home, got caught or got SAS'd.
If the perpetrators here are from Iraq or some other foreign country, then it'd probably work in much the same way.
If they're locals though, it might not and they might try to keep a low profile for a while.
My guess though is that the UK security services will have a very good idea about any locals that would do such things and will catch them swiftly. This is precisely the point of allowing them to run around loose and say what they like.
