SEN. SCHUMER CAUGHT ON CELLPHONE: 'WE ARE GOING TO WAR' OVER SUPREME COURT

**Exclusive**

Senate Judiciary Committee member Chuck Schumer got busy plotting away on the cellphone aboard a Washington, DC-New York Amtrak -- plotting Democrat strategy for the upcoming Supreme Court battle.

Schumer promised a fight over whoever the President’s nominee was: “It's not about an individual judge… It's about how it affects the overall makeup of the court.”

The chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was overheard on a long cellphone conversation with an unknown political ally, and the DRUDGE REPORT was there!

Schumer proudly declared: “We are contemplating how we are going to go to war over this.”

Schumer went on to say how hard it was to predict how a Supreme Court justice would turn out: “Even William Rehnquist is more moderate than they expected. The only ones that resulted how they predicted were [Antonin] Scalia and [Ruth Bader] Ginsburg. So most of the time they've gotten their picks wrong, and that's what we want to do to them again.”

Schumer later went on to mock the “Gang of 14” judicial filibuster deal and said it wasn’t relevant in the Supreme Court debate.

“A Priscilla Owen or Janice Rogers Brown style appointment may not have been extraordinary to the appellate court but may be extraordinary to the Supreme Court.”

By the time the train hit New Jersey, Schumer shifted gears and called his friend and “Gang of 14” member, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The two talked in a very friendly manner about doing an event sometime this week together.

Developing…

What a shock. At least what we've all known here, might be openly debated-- that the RATs will crucify anyone that the President nominates. I can almost pity them for their blind hatred, because I seriesly believe that kind of despicable effort will only come back to bite them tenfold.

Anyone who knows the Democrats knows they are already at war regarding the Supreme Court vacancy.

They are fighting an unarmed, demoralized, and cowardly foe therefore the public does not realize that the Democrats are at war.

The questions are: will Frist roll over?

I'm hoping this will be the last straw for Frist, will make him madder than hell and he'll be strong. I'm sure GWB is focused regardless of who he has in mind to nominate, and this will ensure angst for Frist too. How that shakes out is anyone's guess, tho.

Absolutely right-- being threatened and actually hit on our own soil can't make RATs budge too much or for too long, but their hatred for GWB is so blindingly hot that the war analogies are fine and they're more than ready to mobilize against him and go to the mat with it. Well just in case there was any doubt, this is the face of the DemonRAT party for the 21st century. Too bad they don't hold the American people worth fighting for in any like way.

Perhaps someone sitting next to him had an open cell phone on them. Or someone left an open cell phone on the seat.

I wonder if that's illegal. It's not exactly wire-tapping, but it does involve wireless technology.

It's not the 'MSM' that will follow Schumer into battle, it is the Pro-choicers. That's the war here, and those are the votes that Schumer is clinging hard and fast to - Ya know NY is a very blue state. In fact, even in red states the polls say the public wants abortion kept legal.

Is Schmuckie one of the Gang of 14? I can name the 7-Dwarf-RINOs but I wasn't very concerned with the RATs.

BTW, the day the "compromise" was announced, I was very worried over the conspicuous absence of SCOTUS contingencies. And here it is!

Yes, I know who the Gang of 14 are.

What exactly does that have to do with anything?

How does that make the fact that he talked to Schumer on the phone...anything important at all?

To Dims - good luck with your 'war' when all your opponent is planning to do is roll over on its back & display its privates in supplication.

chucky-poo wouild have to be pretty dumb to allow sensitive conversations to be overheard by strangers

My first impulse is to say "he IS!" but I think it's a case where many RATs are allowing their hatred of this President to direct every action they take, so that they appear to be very stupid. Fortunately for us, the effect is the same.

"chucky-poo wouild have to be pretty dumb to allow sensitive conversations to be overheard by strangers."

Well he's a liberal isn't he? How smart could he be?

You seem like you spoiling for there to be something illegal that the source has done to obtain the info. If we have to take Katie Courics "some people" sources, then we have to beleive what Drudge prints, imo and fwiw.

I was trying to think of words that describe Schumer...

Slimy
Sleazy
Weaselly
Creepy
Cloying
Annoying

I'm sure there are many others...

I don't trust Lindsey. And, the fact that he and Schumer are chummy is no surprise. Mind you, the article states that they were having a nice little chat while he was on a train to New Jersey, not from his Senate office.

So, there's actually a war the rats DO suppport?

They generally support the wars they start, as long as it serves their interests.

How is a conversaton "private" when it's within earshot of anyone else? Speaking to someone on your cellphone on a train is hardly tantamount to a confessional.
