Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sens. Specter, Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.; Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; People for the American Way president Ralph Neas; American Center for Law and Justice chief counsel Jay Alan Sekulow.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and John Cornyn, R-Texas; country singer Toby Keith.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.; U.S. Agency for International Development administrator Andrew Natsios.
Arlen says that he and Leahy have plans for a professional process but if there's a fight, they are both ready for it.
I'm off TV / Cable / political talk until the whole Supreme Show is over. I can NOT stand the 'Rat rants anymore. If I want to hear remarks about how horrible the US is, I can turn to two places: the 'RATs on the tube or the terrorists on Al Jazeera. I'm interested in neither. It upsets and hurts me when I hear people who've benefitted from the freedom and
wealth of our country, trying to destroy it for their own power meglamania. I wish we had a channel which weren't 'fair and balanced' but rather limited itself to those who love the USA so that I could view it. Until that is available, I'm netflixing and reading only.
Add my thanks too, AB. MTP might be good as Hunter takes the others on but FNS will probably remain the best to watch.
Leahy wants a nominee who will "unite" the country (dem talking point). Now what does that mean? Since when is that the job of a supreme court justice.
Oh, and WAR EAGLE!
Bwahahaha, they are both furious at the "groups." Look, people, we are Senators and hence the smartest guys around. We know what we are doing. Just shut up until it's time to come out and vote FOR US.
Leahy is setting this up for a filibuster. Not good to have a Justice who only gets 51 votes. Doesn't want extreme right or left. How about Buzzy Ginsberg???
Oh, Fox and Friends talking about the Karl Rove flap.
Like Rush reminding Republicans, "Bush won you majority status, You are in majority & Behave and act like it".
This is the best comment I've heard yet. Uniting the country is the Democarts mantra, while they are trying to destroy it.
Where in the US does Arlen Spector
hail from? His accent is weird....almost sounds southern.
I am beginning to wonder if there isn't a group of stealth Rats fomenting the idea that Gonzalez isn't conservative. Seems to me that anyone who worked as closely with the President on the issues of theWOT would not be a leftist.
Also, there is a fair amount of anti-Hispanic feeling on both sides, whicih is contributing to this controversy, IMHO.
I don't think Gonzalez will be the nominee, however. If he were, he would be called to recuse himself from any decisions in which he had participated as Counsel or AG. In addition, I don't think the President wants to face both a fight for the Supreme Court AND a fight for a new AG. If he were considering putting Gonzalez in the SC, I don't think the President would have nominated him to the AG position.
Thanks for the posting. Apparently our Denver NBC channel doesn't have it scheduled for airing. (Probably low ratings and they are showing something else.)
Abraham Lincoln "united" the country once.
There is the set up for asking how they'll rule on Roe and any other inappropriate question they can think of. Anybody there to represent dead babies? I think the best the dems have right now is to get a stealth candidate like Kennedy who can be wooed by the left. I don't think the President is going to give it to them. Why should he care if they all choose to shoot themselves in the foot? And about holding up the rights of the people, what about the right not to have your property taken for a "private" purpose.
