Tory Clark bitchslapped Wolf Blitzer by telling him the talking heads don't get the most important thing the President said. She said they should be discussing what the president said to the Iraqi people. that they better get busy doing their job. she's right...it was a clear message to Iraq.

Bump that! She's absolutely right! Screw the RATS, it's the Iraqi's and people in the ME that most needed to hear these words, in addition to some here at home. (Most here at home already know and agree with what the President has said all along.!

This "applause" comment will get all the media attention. None of them understand military protocol. Having said that, however, since Bush's advisors do, one wonders why they left him open for that type of criticism? The liberal public, who don't know, won't believe the factual explanation. They will keep spinning it to show there was a disinterested, negative feeling.

I believe that,Bush's speech, which was very good, and showed his solid, strong resolve, would have been better delivered sans a military audience. (No matter how much I love to honor them, and ask that God bless all our service members.)

I sometimes wonder why Bush doesn't do a typical PR Power Point type presentation complete with slides, comments, and some "hoopla" for the positive changes in Iraq. I would love to see him fight the media the way they fight him. Present the audience with uplifting, inspiring pictures in front of the camera to challenge the myriad of negative ones that the media bombards the public with daily. Remember how the image of the woman with the "purple finger" hugging the mother of a deceased soldier at his SOTU speech lasted and was embraced by all who support his efforts--and how it became the soul and symbol of freedom for Iraq?

We need more good images to counteract all the derogatory ones. We know that those who only watch major news networks; and then only really grasp what they see on TV (and don't read anything) can only be motivated with images. They just do not analyze anything and make their decisions based mostly on the negative images they are fed by the MSM.

I know the idea might not be as "Presidential," and on a serious subject it might be difficult, but I think that sometimes it would be more effective.

I'd love to see a blinking contest between Pelosi and the Runaway Bride.

Hereby giving dial-up owner permission for side-by-side Pelosi and Runaway Bride photos.

It's my interpretation of what she was saying.

Damn. McMaverick is on.

What Mara said was that she found it interesting that the President won't set a time table, but that the Iraqi people have a timetable in setting up their government. That they finally got the Sunni's onboard, but the efforts for a Constitution could fall apart.

I interrupt that as hope.

It was good but in my opinion, it could have been much stronger.

The one area of the speech that he came over way to soft was when he mentioned the countries the insurgent terrorist are coming from, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, etc, but did not mention any consequences to these countries if they do not step up to the plate and help stop these thugs and murderers from coming over their borders.
