24 HOURS SINCE THE RULING. AMERICA IS OUTRAGED. WHERE IS PRESIDENT BUSH?

Have you called the White House comment line? I called this morning. It is a very easy and non-threatening thing to do; and, you talk with a real person. The telephone number is 202-456-1111.

I don't know if this in an appropriate thing to post to "All", but I hope many, many people call to express their concern... politely, but clearly.

Every one in my family has already called the WH, and congressional leaders. I even had my 4-year old leave a message. Still nothing from our President on this disgraceful left-wing ruling.

"Still nothing from our President on this disgraceful left-wing ruling."

Just as there will be nothing from him or his party about immigration.
Cheap labor and the ability to cheaply acquire land from private owners for development both enormously benefit big capital, and big capital are the largest contributors to the Republican Party.

Likewise, among the Democrats there is always shrill shrieking against the War on Terror, regardless of the feelings of rank and file American Democrats, because the largest contributors to the Democratic Party are vehemently opposed to the war on ideological grounds.

The silence or volume of the President on such issues indicates where the power lies in the United States.
And it does not lie with the private citizens who are angry about the loss of security of private homes, or angry about illegal immigration.

Living in a single family home on your own plot of land will be condemned by opinion leaders, media, and authorities as selfish, along with being overweight, not having health insurance, smoking cigarettes, driving a car [especially an SUV], owning substantial quantities of cash, eating meat, or "hoarding".

You said it even better.

And in fifty years or so, when immigration has stuffed a quarter billion more people into this country, they will use this week's ruling to take our private homes away

Where we lived, will be turned into apartment houses, giant factory-farms, shopping centers, watersheds, and roads.

All to feed and supply the hordes of people they are flooding the country with.

We will all be herded into efficient "population centers" (i.s. Cities), which are easier to supply and to control, and which are space and energy efficient.

Of course you won't be able to smoke anywhere. And that's is only the beginning of the freedom you wll lose.

MARK MY WORDS!

This Supreme Court is the most anti-freedom court in the history of the United States.

They would feel more comfortable in Stalin's Russia than here, now.

This PETITION FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVENCES has only 650 signatures at this time - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW!

To:  U. S. Congress

PETITION FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVENCES

We the People of the United States, do hereby demand that our duly elected representatives in both houses of Congress, initiate impeachment proceedings against the following Supreme Court Justices:

John Paul Stevens
Anthony Kennedy
David H. Souter
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Stephen G. Breyer

We, the undersigned, consider the Supreme Court ruling in Kelo v. New London, 04-108, rendered June 23, 2005, not only unacceptable, but to be in criminal violation of the Justice's oaths to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Be advised that We the People regard elected officials to be our public servants. Failure to take action against the Justices specified shall be considered support for the decision rendered in the aforementioned case, and will result in our resolve to ensure your defeat in the next election.

Being from myriad political and ideological spectra, we are united in our belief that our right to own property is inalienable.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

PLEASE sign the petition - we need to let Congress know of our outrage.

It looks like the novel 1984 was not a warning, but a recommendation.

I have come to the conclusion that Bush is not a friend of freedom.

Thank you for signing.

My own thread? LOL - I get too tongue-tied & upset to say what I really think about this.  I'd be banned from FR for sure and embarrassed by my own language.

Only if you're a multinational corporation.

What say you about this ruling?

From the street, it looks pretty much like the end of meaningful real property ownership.
