Eleanor Mondale Diagnosed With Cancer
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Eleanor Mondale, the daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale, has been diagnosed with brain cancer, the Star Tribune reported Tuesday.
Mondale spoke to the newspaper just hours before she began her first session of radiation and chemotherapy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Just a week ago, Mondale married local rock star Chan Poling.
"It's bad but not that bad," she said from her farmhouse in Prior Lake. "I've got a really good chance to beat it."
Mondale, 45, said her vision had bothered her in recent months but didn't believe there was anything seriously wrong until a camping trip May 16, when she suffered two seizures.
Doctors determined she had two tumors, both in her frontal lobe, and on May 31 they were found to be cancerous.
Mondale will undergo nearly seven weeks of oral chemotherapy and radiation, which could either zap the tumors completely or reduce them to a size that makes surgery safer.
Too bad. Was she the one rumored to have a tryst with Bill Clintoon?
Her daddy was a lib from the era when there still was a small degree of character in the demonrat party.

This is not good news for her. I had a friend who seemed perfectly healthy, had a seizure on the way back from a picnic, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was dead a few months later. It was a terrible shock to everyone. Prayers for the poor woman.
Anyway, hope she fully recovers.
Don't care for her personally, but sorry to hear of her illness. Hope she makes a full recovery.
Walter Mondale struck me as an honest, decent liberal. His views were misguided, but seems to be a decent guy.
She seems optimistic about her chances.
I seem to remember her being an actress.

I remember seeing her on TV back in 1984 with her Dad and man was she a HOTTIE ! Still looking good . Hope she beats this .
