"Great actor" my left...
He's done some good performances, but he's overrated as an actor. When have you seen him in a movie and not thought "that's Tom Cruise acting"? The great actors (DeNiro, Pacino, Streep), you don't sense they are acting.

The man believes thousands of alien spirits infect his body. That kinda settled the "crazy" question for me a long time ago.

Scientologist recruiters are taught to seek out converts with mental problems. They look for the weak minded and easiy manipulated. Of course, if the potential convert does not have money, forget it.

You''re nuts.

He was great in Color of Money, 4th of July, Rainman, Top Gun, A Few Good Men...and recently Collateral.

Tom Cruise is nuts! Why else would he join Scientology? I read Dianetics back in the 70's and I can say it was the best Science Fiction tome Hubbard ever wrote!

I say this with one caviot... Tom is a great actor. He's still nuts though and probably gay. His betrothed is quite attractive though.

While I may not agree with Scientology, I have learned, through sad experience, to go to the source on religion.

IOW, if I want to know about catholicism, I don't go to the catholic bashers. If I want to know about baptists, I go to a good baptist preacher in good standing in the baptist church. Now, I don't have all that much desire to learn about scientology, so for me to listen to Scientology bashing is just so much noise, since I don't know one way or another and don't really care, either.

I like the people who complain about celebrity publicity by posting public threads on the internet, thus sustaining the very "problem" they are complaining about.

Of course, the Scientology leaders have all the goods on the likes of Cruise and Travolta. That's why they'll never leave, they know they would spill the beans on them.

I don't care about Tom Cruise or his beard. This "War of the World/I'm straight/Batman Begins" tour is pathetic.

One more reason to burn hollywood burn.

he is acting..... he is going through MID-LIFE crisis and going after a girl much too young to realize what she is doing. His whole stupidity is nuts for a man his age. Jumping on the couch and all his photo opts.. right at the timing of his new movie... War of the Worlds.

The only movie the guy every made I could stomach watching again is Legend.

He plays the same guy over and over, best pilot, best race car driver, best spy, best pool player, best bartender even! LOL. On and on.

I am weary of hearing of this eighties fossil.
Even the scientology is a joke from the eighties.
Its amazing the media never calls him on it. If he behaved the same about christianity they would ridicule him.

Bingo.

I'm a former member of that, ummmm, organization.

I have a standing offer to any FReeper to accurately answer any questions about it to the best of my ability, either by FReepmail or on a public thread.

The only caveat is that I've been out quite a while and I may not have the latest information.

And I'm sure if you go to Scientology to get some information, they will be completely honest with you.

"...going after a girl much too young to realize what she is doing."

You hit it right on the head, JFC! Katie is still a starstuck little girl and easily swayed. Any older woman in Hollywood knows Cruise for who he is and will stay away from any entanglement with him.

Is Tom Cruise nuts? I think he's probably been nuts for a really long time; anyone who would get seriously involved with Scientology has to have a few screws loose. But up until recently, Cruise has hid this pretty well. Why is he acting like a moonbat now? I don't know, maybe he's gotten new PR people working for him that don't control him, or maybe his higher-ups in Scientology are manipulating him, or maybe whatever mental problems he had before are becoming more severe. It will be interesting and sad to watch him implode in the next few years.

Please, as much as anything these people are "products." Cruise is a product worth several billion dollars in addition to the several billion he has already generated. The girl is a product who aspires to be worth several billion.

Expensive products like these don't go running around willy-nilly without "product managers."
