Thanks but, I thought her call for an investigation supports Durbin's remarks...loud and clear.

That is a good thing. IF they go south spewing their crap, they may get met with buck shots in their treasonous butts!

"It is unreal that they continue to do this after what they've done to the Democratic Party... It is such a dumb thing to do..If the Democrats want to reach out and broaden their appeal they need to change their direction...the vitriol is coming from the fact that the Democratic Party controlled congress and the south and that control has dissolved because of people like Dick Durbin and Howard Dean..."

My two Republican Senators are silent on Durbin's comments but my ex-Democrat Senator is hopping mad!

What's wrong with the above?

Zell was my Lt. Governor, Governor and Senator. I never cast one ballot for any office for him. Yet I go out of my way in helping both my Republican Senators get elected through grassroots and financial support.

I feel like an idiot.

Again something is very wrong with all this.

I have phoned Boxer and Feinstein

What number did you use that was answered! I'm leaving for the weekend, but would like to have that number for when I get back. I've not had any luck.

Many thanks!

I'm a conservative Independent.

Zell is absolutely right. I used to support Democrats, now I do not. The GOP did not seduce me. The Democrats drove me away.

My late father once wrote to his congresspeople -- at the time he had Heinz and Spector in the Senate and some Dem whose name escapes me now in the House -- regarding the notch babies Social Security scam. The only one who responded was Heinz. Not that he did anything about the scam (although to be fair, I think the plane crash which took his life happened not too long after), but at least he had the decency to reply to my father. The other two ignored him.

There are not enough words of apology Durbin could make to people like yourselves IMO. However, the Republicans could right this wrong to a certain extent by at least censuring him.

Barf Alert

There is no room for legal hair-splitting when it comes to the humane treatment of detainees - not in a nation founded on the rule of law and respect for human rights. --- Dick Durbin
