I have some advice for young ladies everywhere. Don't get drunk and run around with young men you don't know. Some of them are not nice people.
Texcat, I would love to see all Americans who plan travel to Aruba, just cancel their trips in support of Natalee. When the tourism industry suffers we will start obtaining better results in this case.
I know some will say, why should the Aruban people who did not commit this crime suffer? Well it happened in Aruba, their politicios&authorities have screwed up/dragged their feet in this investigation.
The bottom line, when a foreign country fails to start taking the loss of American tourist in their country with a grain of salt. Then they must pay and peer pressure from the all the islanders+ loss of tourism dollars is an effective means.
The intentional or unintentional mistakes the Aruban authorities made at the onset of this investigation should have resulted in some firings.(Incompetence)(Preferential Social Status Treatment)
As I have said before, if this had occurred in the USA. The politicians&police would have jumped out of their asses having this case solved.NSNR

Interview With Van der Sloot Friend
Keep in mind, this was not a school-sponsored event. This was a private vacation for a bunch of high school girls looking for some sun and fun. Natalie, along with the majority of her friends were 18 years old and in a foreign country that allows drinking at that age. In this case, the "chaperones" were probably one of the girl's "cool Uncle Mike" who happened to be back at the hotel bar with another of the girl's "cool Aunt Sally" enjoying the 30 to 45 crowd.
I'm sorry but, reality says that Natalie and her friends are not a bunch of little innocent lambs here. They were out at a bar getting trashed on the last night of the vacation of their lives and having chaperones in the bar was not an option.
I hope and pray that this girl is found alive for her sake and everyone involved, including the chaperones, but realistically, don't blame the chaperones, blame the naive parents who think that their child would neeeeeever do anything. Everyone thinks their kid is the innocent one in the group. At this time, the facts appear to be that Natalie got snockered and some evil young men took advantage of her in that condition.

today 6am police go into house in Sta Cruz where they go with one person ......with initials S.C. this arrest took place 6am this morning...wurprised the family with this arrest....we got differnt information, but we want to get all concrete things together before we bring this news to you.....we dont want to confuse anyone! we want to say that their is suspicion that she is ALIVE! but we dont want to bring up any suspicion to anyone but we willbe beack with info if this person has information for this case...also in savaneta they took someone for interogation.....we are hoping this will come to an end, with all this suspicion we believe shes alive.....stay pending.....thank you harry
I know it was not school-sponsored, never thought or said it was. Doesn't matter, someone organized it...and whoever that was determined that a stupid contract would assure the safety of these kids because they signed it. I wonder how many of the organizers ever cheated on their income tax as adults or have not honored their word in some manner. Or how many or did something they were told not to do when they were teens. The situation these teens were in was far more serious than to have been trusted to honor a stupid contract.
IMHO there is absolutely no excuse for not watching these teens, whether there was some signed contract or not. The life and well-being of any child is too precious to hand it over to possible danger because you want to allow them freedom! It was just irresponsible to let these kids alone, especially at night, and expect "adult" behavior. Heck, even adults go off, get drunk, make stupid decisions.
They played the game of "We're understanding adults who just want to be your friends, kids," and the result is that the group returned - minus one young girl.
Who is suspecting she is alive? The police?
I will be watching for your updates! Oh, I hope she is found. As you can tell, I am very angry with the supposed "chaperones" and the silly idea that they had about a contract. This poor child is the victim of the criminals involved, and very poor, careless judgement on the part of the organizers of this trip. I will pray she is alive.
