Seems to me the entire criminal big time stuff is background, the context in which this occurred. Sort of like a mugger mugging someone in a Mafia neighborhood and suddenly all hell breaks loose from the Mafia and from LE who are "bought off" or just trying to do their job.

If this is the real story -- that the 3 boys did this on their own -- can you imagine how pissed off the organized crime people are right about now? Ha! Gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling just thinking about how mad they must be about being in the spotlight like this.

I am conflicted about the media attention. There are literally thousands of people who disappear every year and with media attention some may have been found - either dead or alive.

Why? Because criminal justice authorities are so inefficient, compromised, hampered by defendant rights, etc. It took 2 weeks to get evidence from Joran's car and the justice minister responds to the questions of why it took so long by saying "We can't go in there like you cowboys."

Geez, I suppose you would have to move JVDS to the most secure place on the island, like a prison or something. But that would be really bizarre for the Dutch to do given their concern these last three weeks for the criminals in this case.

We had to replay that verbal exchange a couple of times to confirm what we were hearing! The Fox NN anchor CUT him off. It was the height of insult that he should demand that Natalee's family and friends take a polygraph, especially since he acknowledged they aren't acceptable for any Aruban citizen.

Joran's father is not allowed to see his son (Joran) now because Paulus Van der Sloot is now considered a witness in the case? - FOX just said this and that the father has been in twice in the last 24 hours for questioning.

This investigation is more about protecting son-of-VDS from the mafia, who will kill him.
