Good morning, fellow political junkies. I'm starting the thread early, because I'll be out and about for much of the morning. Follow along, and comment here, as usual..
RE: Nelson.
Nebraska voted 66% for Bush.
I'm stuned! Both my senatorettes voted nay.
Alleged Spineless Leader Shows Brainless Posters.
More to follow.
Where can I see the list of mental midgets who voted against Judge Brown?
Had Bush gone to the people with those two frontline women (one white Southern, one sharecropper's daughter), he could have completely humiliated the Democrats on this issue, and ended the fillibuster once and for all. But now with this "compromise", the two women have been taken out of the equation, and Bush is left with far weaker propaganda when the RATs start blocking his nominees once again.
This whole episode has been a profile in cowardice. Evangelicals did not elect this president for bankruptcy reform. We did it so he could put judges in place who represent our values.
The "Deal" was just cover for the Rats to back down from their empty filibuster threat.
Are you series? Imagine that.
Forgive me for not celebrating this "victory". Bush blew this issue totally by focusing on his meager Social Security proposal, bankruptcy "reform" and alien amnesty, instead of hitting the fillibuster issue 100% with that "political capital" he so enjoyed bragging about.

I'm liking these numbers -- bring back the wayward 7 and the Republicans would top 60. I have no idea about how everyone voted -- so maybe some of those 7 are in the yeses.

Probably thought he was voting to approve "Brown-Away", the new cleaning product from Proctor and Gamble.
I agree...They do not want to be filibustered when/if they get the majority or White House.
Unless they lost the nuke vote..
Not only that, but all of the president's nominees would've received an up or down vote.
And by all accounts they still will. Either the Dems go along with this deal, or they get nuked when the pull another filibuster stunt. We'll see what the future holds.
This set up the RINOs to not have to actually vote for or against a pro-life judge.
Because...?
The democrats simply set us up to filibuster pro-life nominees to the USSC, which they could not have done if the GOP had the nerve to do what was right. Just wait and see.
The Dems set up nothing. They've always been planning to do that. Nothing has changed.
C'mon, you know want to vote for me. I mean, do really think Hillary Clinton would look better on "Meet The Press" than this?
(Beams. Does catwalk. Looks for reporter from "The Hill" out of the corner of his eye.)
Well, this thread was the first thing I saw when I came here this morning.
I can't think of a better way to start the day. Great news!
