It would be a disaster if the UN gets its hands on it. Not even economically but free speech wise...! Get involved!

Terrible idea! If UN gains control of the NET, it will become a mouthpiece for the likes of corrupt individuals. The net presently is the truest form of free speech and ideas. If UN gains control, worldwide martial law will have been declared.

Oh, goody. Picture the Internet being handled in the same way as the Oil-for-Food program...

'nuff said...

How likely is this?

My first reaction is, not very likely as long as Bush is president. But if hillary gets in in 2008, she would just love it.

I don't see the problem. The UN is working for the common good of humanity, and always does the right thing.

I mean, if you can't trust the UN, who can you trust?

Look at the UN's record. Can you find one instance where the UN could not be trusted to be a force for truth, justice, fairness and honor?

Look on the bright side.

When its time to kill them, they'll be conveniently located in downtown New York.

Here's my question: could we create another internet? What if a new root was created?

Technically, it's no problem. Logistically, though, what could happen with it? If the UN starts imposing it's rule on the internet, will corporations support it?

They claim that it's necessary to wrest control of the Internet from the United States and that ICANN is a private organization that is beholden to no one and that represents no one.

Those damn, filthy UN b4st4rds!

The United States CREATED the Internet, and the UN and ITU think they can just waltz in and take over it's administration??

To hell with that. Let them built their own "Turd World Net" out of old cans and string if they want a network to control so badly.

BURN DOWN THE UN, DRIVE ITS AMBASSADORS INTO THE EAST RIVER, AND KEEP THE INTERNET FREE OF FASCIST CONTROL!
