If he's acquitted, he'll think he has a free pass, since the cops will be reluctant to take him on again. Any youngster that catches his eye will be fair game.

Look out kids if justice doesn't get served. Mike will have a big party and it'll be open season.

No, he walks because the State did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. This is America, correct?

Just wanted you to know we are actually in agreement on this.

The juxtaposition of those two pictures is grotesque. He was a cute little kid.

Jay Leno testified that he gets at least 20 calls a week from terminally ill kids. The calls are arranged through an organization like Make A Wish foundation. Celebrities try to cheer them up. That apparently is why the boy called. He also called other celebs.

* count 1, overt acts 1-28: 182(a)(1) - conspiracy (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/182-185.html), involving unlawful controlling, withholding, concealing, enticing, and threatening the accuser, his mother, his sister, and his brother, to commit:
o 236 - false imprisonment (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/236-237.html)
o 278 - child abduction (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/277-280.html)
o 518 - extortion (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/518-527.html)
* count 2-6: 288(a) - lewd act upon a child (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/281-294.html): four times plus one attempt (664) (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/654-678.html): two times (counts 2 and 3) reported by the accuser, two times (counts 4 and 5) witnessed by his brother, while the accuser slept, and an attempt to have the accuser perform a non-penetrative sexual act on Jackson (count 6). 288(a) should not be confused with 288a.
o counts 7-10: 222 - administering alcohol to enable and assist oneself to do this (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cacodes/pen/220-222.html) (four times); in June 2005 Melville ruled that alternatively the jury can consider the lesser charge of just supplying alcohol to the accuser.

Remember, the jury must decide a verdict on each count. I think he will be found guilty of giving alcohol to a minor. I doubt they'll find guilt on the conspiracy count. As to the 'lewd acts with a child', I just don't know. The video testimony of the child is said to have been very powerful and compelling. OTOH, his mother is a nut-case and provides ample doubt.

This is California folks. Michael will walk free and will continue to molest. He'll probably move to France. No jury in CA is going to convict a pop star with loads of cash.

Smoking Gun.com has details and court documents about 3 suits against Jackson for unpaid bills. Millions of dollars that he's in the hole for.

Just out of curiosity---do you really believe that this family called Jay Leno to 'cheer up' the son?

Exactly. And every other pedophile will step up their efforts knowing that precedents have been set in this trial that will protect their rights to groom and assault their victims.

I predict Acquittal.

I've tried similar criminal cases and they are difficult to get a conviction on when the victim has credibility problems.

Don't get me wrong. I think Jackson is guilty.

But getting 12 folks to agree with you that there is no reasonable doubt, particularly when your star witness and family has credibility problems.

Heck, these one-on-one cases are hard to convict even when your victim is squeaky clean.

Don't be disappointed. But I predict acquittal.
