This isn't a "win", it doesn't help the president at all and WHY would President Bush go along with McLame and the likes of KKKKKKKKKKKKKK SHEETS? It's a lose/lose situation for him.

Unfortunately, the president hasn't ever turned any thumb screws on anybody, for any judicial nomination.

I want this to be true. I'm not sure, though.

Sometimes it all begins to look like wrestling: the winners are set up in advance, and there's a lot of hollering, posturing, and fake grunts.

I do want to see what happens when these 3 come up for votes.

And it will be interesting to see what counts as "extraordinary."

I wonder if we should try Estrada (or Bork) to find out.

McCain is a boob and my opinion of John Warner has gone lower than dirt and DeWine as well...

***

My opinion of Warner soured long ago when he was married Elizabeth Taylor and then picked on her about her weight. He was a slob and a lowlife then, and he hasn't improved now.

Always thought that Ms. Taylor shoulda mushed him upside the head with a heavy cast iron frying pan.

Wrong...it's a total loss due to the spineless cowardly RINOS.

"Extraordianary circumstances" is NOT, in your words, a vague threat. Democrats will now throw around "EC" at every Bush nominee no matter what. The nominee could wear brown shows with a blue suit and that will be enough for the traitors in the DNC to say "extraordinary circumstances".

What really makes me laugh is that John McCain thinks he's helping himself when, in reality, he just kissed away any chance he thought he had to win the 2008 GOP nomination. Let him run as an independent.

The GOP is dead!

Why post these numbers when the mailbox is always full? And, all you get is polite "good bye". Geeez.

The "principled" Democrats will ALLOW a vote on three of the seven judges. Great deal huh? NOT.

I'll agree with you only if one of the Bush's nominees (including future nominees) fails to get a final up-or-down vote. At this point, it's too early to tell.

What you've just seen is the republicans once again clutching defeat from the jaws of victory. Now was the perfect time to do away with fillibusters of judicial nominees in preparation for the SCOTUS battles. The RINO's once again pleasured themselves at the detriment of the Constitution, separation of powers and the country in general.

Bush won the national election. With that comes perogatives. McCain, Byrd and the rest have now claimed those perogatives for themselves. John McCain and his merry idiots now have veto power over Bush's SCOTUS nominees. It is garbage.

The Democrats seized the momentum from Frist. Frist had only one chance to deliver on the nuclear option and he froze. From now on, the control of the Senate will be in the hands of Democrats and RINOs.

Major Garrett just said the Dims lose on this one.

It sounds that way to me...But try to tell that to the naysayers and backbiters who are flocking to this thread to look for any reason to tear down the Republican Party.

I think this is at the very least a tactical retreat by the Democrats, but they're base is so stupid (as is some of our base) that the Dems will spin this as a victory. It doesn't seem like much of a victory for them when our three most conservative judges get on the bench.

Touchdown = reducing cloture on nominations to 51.

This is more of a safety and free kick.

Lindsay is scared about what thr rule change would have meant?

I have the answer: it would have meant that elections have consequences.

Frist won't have the opportunity to exercise the nuclear option again. He needs momentum to do that, and the Democrats and RINOs seized the momentum from him.

Your right and the MSM will be even harder on Frist next time.

"A bit of an overreaction here?
Come on, people. Wait for the real battles to happen when SCOTUS nominees come due.

No reason for Repubs to lose their cool now. Politics is a game of compromise and picking the size of the hill you're willing to die on."

Same ol garbage thats been shoved down our throats for 4 years. Trust, be patient, elect Rebpubs in 2002/2004 and things will change, blah blah.

Look, the Dems do something thought beyond the bounds for 200 years. All we had to do is get 50 out 55 senators. The Repubs caved. THEY CAVED. These freak'n RINO have stabbed us in the back.

Just give up. Its all over. McCain is a Freak'n democrat. Graham is a tratior.

I am saving up $2000 to give to whoever runs against McCain for Senator in AZ. the republicans were far more conservative whent they were in the minority, we must return them to the minority.
