CHOKE ON IT F**KERS. YOU LOST! Just to be clear, who are you telling to "choke on it", ChokeOnIt?
To: Kenny Bunkport
If that's the case, it is not as bad as it could have been, but it is still unacceptable. The issue should be settled once and for all.
To: AlGone2001
I think you're right. And this has nothing to do with judicial nominees, or "saving the precious traditions of the Senate"....this is about RINOs rising up and giving the majority conservatives within the GOP caucus the finger.
To: carrier-aviator
You are completely wrong! - This is not a pure defeat for the GOP - (The fact is when can change the filibuster rule if and when the DEM's filibuster a supreme court nominee).
Until then we are getting all but two of our judges confirmed.
We have some RHINIO's to take out in the primaries (so be it). But stop wetting your pants and cowboy up!
To: Xenophon450
They're so proud of themselves. I really think they do not know our rage!

Didn't the guy on Fox just say that the Dumbs now cannot say that future nominees are outside of the mainstream if they agree to confirm these three judges? Sounds like at least a partial win to me.

As we sit here, I just got a call from the RNC. I told them to take me off the damn list. I've had it with them, McCain and the 14 senators who think they are the executive branch of the USA. They got the message loud and clear.

God I hope you're right..

MR. RUSSERT: Do the Republicans have the votes to do it?
DR. DEAN: I don't know. They say they do. I have no way of knowing what the vote counts are in the Senate. But, again, I hope they won't. Someday, the Democrats will be back in charge again. Do we want a Democratic Party that's in charge of everything? Well, you know, I suppose it's my job to say yes. But the truth is, as an American, it's better when parties share power. It's better when even those people who didn't win the election have something to say.
MR. RUSSERT: Republicans will say that the Democrats are speaking a different tune now than they did when they were in control. Robert Byrd, when he was a majority leader in '79, said, "Now, we are at the beginning of Congress. This Congress is not obliged to be bound by the dead hand of the past."
And the filibuster used to need 67 votes. They changed it to 60.
DR. DEAN: Mm-hmm.

Not if Frist didn't have the votes
To: ElkGroveDan
What??? That's not a deal. That's not anything. I can't believe Frist is even putting up with this.
Frist should just ignore this and continue on. Force a vote so we KNOW where everyone stands.

My houghts exactly. They've made a deal with the devil!

This is the thanks President Bush gets for getting many of these same RINO's re-elected.
I guess McCain is too gutless to twist that knife he plunged into President Bush's back.

Is that what it is? Sounded to me like GOP balls being dropped in the dem collection plate.
To: Kenny Bunkport
we get Owen, Brown, and Pryor, and then the Dems will take up the filibuster again, charging "extradinary circumstances," with the hope that because they let three through, they'll regain the PR advantage and this time make the filibuster stick.
Yep. But if Frist is smart he'll hold off on Saad and Myers. Maybe then let Bush nominate Rogers-Brown or Owen to the Supreme Court after they've been confirmed for the circuit court. Run the nuclear option on that.
