Garrett may report this DEAL as a GOP win but the MSM will say the the DemonRATs won because the filibuster was preserved.

Yes, DU now has a thread called:

Respectfully, please consider renaming DU to the "Opposition Underground".

That is quite amusing.

I wouldn't vote for him either. But I sure wouldn't vote for Hellary as an alternative.

now they can wait until the Supreme court nominations, and do it again, this time they will know they can roll the pubs in the senate like a cat plays with ball of yarn...

I think I'm voting democrat in 2006....honestly....if theyre actually running the show, why not make them take the responsibility?

Secondly, it'll remind our guys just who elects 'em. They tend to forget that in DC.

I wish we had a third party for the conservatives, instead of two parties representing Washington DC

He's pro-life. The Dem baby-killers won't allow him near the ticket.

This never was about Brown, Owen or Pryor---it was about the Supreme Court Justices---and now the dems RETAIN the right to do this same thing with them---filibuster

And now we know the Republicans will cave like they did tonight!

We don't have the details yet, so I'm not going to go off on anybody. But IF there is a defeat here....IF the Republicans have handed the Dems a sword....then the responsibility lies squarely on President Bush. Not for a moment do I believe that any compromise can be reached without his being consulted, and without his input.

Major Garrett just said the Dims lose on this one. The 3 most conservative judges go through and now if others like them are nominated how can dems call them extreme when the other 3 got through with help from the Dims.

Major Garrett is wrong. The Dims won this battle by getting seven PANTY-WAIST Republicans to continue to allow a filibuster on four--more than half--of the judges.

The Dims will now go into full personal attack mode, and, I believe, may convince some of these wusses in the GOP to vote AGAINST the three they are "allowing" to get a vote.

Absolute CRAP is what McLame and Warner and Byrd have hashed out. Old Sheets and his Klan-like ways have influenced Republicans. Sickening.

"will do everything in our power"

It means nothing; what is the penalty if they don't; and how many years of prison time does it carry. This is an unenforceable contract, hence not a contract at all.

That's where TRUST comes in. Again, I will ask, when was the last time we could trust democrats.

Are Schumer and Leahy Schumer signatories?

Can SHEETS be trusted?

Yes, you have it right.

In other words, trust the Democrats to keep their word. ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It means NOTHING!!!

Only three will get a vote. This is media hype by McCain and his 11 other "buddies" to be liked by the OLD MEDIA.

I've been madly scrolling through these threads and have yet to come up on a a concise statement as to what the "deal" is.

I'm probably outraged, too, but I can't be properly outraged until I know the specifics.

She is just about assured of a Supreme Court appointment now. If she isn't too "extreme" for the DC Circuit, then she isn't too extreme for the Supreme Court either.

The only sad thing is we lose her on the CA Supreme Court...

She will be.
And Dems won't be able to fillibuster her because they agreed with this "contract" to give her an up or down vote, which she will sail through.

So says Garrett but unless Brit says it I will continue to have my doubts.

McShame say that there is no guarantee the three nominees will be approved by the Senate -- simply that they will get an up or down vote? Wonder if he knows more than he's sharing.

"Major Garrett just said the Dims lose on this one. The 3 most conservative judges go through and now if others like them are nominated how can dems call them extreme when the other 3 got through with help from the Dims."

The Demagogues can call anyone 'extreme' anytime they want to. Consistency and rationality are not required of leaders in the Demagogic Party - in fact, they would be great impediments. I'm glad at least that Owen, Brown, and Pryor should finally be getting confirmation votes, but this just postpones the real battle to another day. As long as the Demagogues are willing to abuse the Senate tradition by filibustering any nominee there will still be the need for the "constitutional option" - unless the Rs really are complete wusses....
