I called McLame's office...strangely, he isn't taking calls and his voice mailbox is full.

I hope the Jerk thinks this back stabbing was worth it. He'll go absolutely nowhere politically anymore, except of course getting his ass kissed by the NY Times and such.

Shep Smith said that the reason Democrats were willing to work with McCain was because he didn't care if he upset the base. They could work in "good faith" with him.

THROW McCAIN OUT OF THE PARTY NOW!!!

things are exactly as they were.

Not exactly. The democrats caved on Brown, Owen and Pryor.

No, I don't think he would split the party. First of all, he has NO chance. He agrees with virtually nothing on the platform. His only glimmer of a chance would be going as a VP for somebody very conservative.

Secondly, I bet he's going to become a Dem. He obviously thinks he's too cool for words, and the Dems love him. Wait until he gets into the pack and they eat him alive! Hah!

I just wonder if some of these "moderates" in the GOP agreed to vote with the Democrats to defeat the nominees if the Dems agreed to allow an up or down vote.

I'll agree with you only if one of the Bush's nominees (including future nominees) fails to get a final up-or-down vote. At this point, it's too early to tell.

The dims don't have the votes.

Oh tht MSM will LOVE McLame for this, and put down Frist for not coming up with a "compromise" sooner.

This tells me Mac wants anothr run at POTUS, perhaps he'll choose as VP a "moderate" Dem like Mark Pryor. I think he liked sKerry's idea of a 2 party ticket, except he wants the top spot.

A bit of an overreaction here?

Come on, people. Wait for the real battles to happen when SCOTUS nominees come due.

No reason for Repubs to lose their cool now. Politics is a game of compromise and picking the size of the hill you're willing to die on.

Just because you have the power to crush your adversary does not necessarily make it wise to do so...yet.

Exactly right! - The fact is we get all our current judges that are held up but two confirmed now - And we can come back another day to fight the ugly filibuster battle if needed (during the supreme court nominee).

In the mean time we got most of the judges we wanted through and we can move on other legislation (like Soc Sec Reform!!).

We are winning big time! - Way too many on here need to cowboy up!! and stop crying.

The USA is governed by one party -- just as a dime is one coin -- with two sides One side is democrats, one side is republican

If it turns up heads -- the American people lose
If it turns up tails -- The American people lose

Heads we lose -- tails they win -- ONE PARTY in power in the Congress the demopublicans.

Once again my vote for a republican was a waisted vote. Next time they come around my house asking for money, asking for my support -- I will say "Why have you abused my support in the past -- such as in 2005!"
