Well, then, we get what we can in 109th, defeat two more Dems in '06 (and possibly some RINOs in the primaries), and cram everything we can down the Dems' throats in '07.

That is the problem to be solved. We have 7 RINO traitors.

OK, this is what I got for voting for Bush, twice:

Campaign Finance Reform
Patriot Act
Guest Worker Program

What else?

The first thing he should have done was remove the RINOs from their chairmanships and enforced some party discipline. Second, he should have told McCain that he was free to change parties anytime he wanted to....especially after we had the 55 seats and McCain wouldn't have been able to cause as much trouble anymore. If Frist had shown some leadership, the RINOs wouldn't have felt as free to behave like the RATs in disguise that they are. As for being a "friend" of the Republicans, I only vote Republican because I can't stomach the Traitors and the Libertarians are too weird for me. I'm a CONSERVATIVE WHO HAPPENS TO BE REGISTERED REPUBLICAN not a Republican who happens to be a conservative. There IS a difference. If there were a truly conservative party that had a snowball's chance on Guam of getting elected to anything, I'd tell those nadless wonders in the GOP that they can go chase themselves! As it is, they aren't getting another dime from me in fund raising, and I just may keep my vote at home in 2006.

Hold the vote anyway.

The votes have to be held. That's the only way to give effect to the agreement.

The agreement is only politically binding too. Can't be enforced in court ;-)

I still think we won this one.

We cannot win until all 7 RINO traitors are put out of the Senate.

Bush won't seriosuly consult with democrats and he doesn't have to either.

The way I read this, is that if the democrats invoke "extraordinary circumstance" on pro life nominees, then the nuke is back on the table.

Reagan didn't have 50+ republican senators while he was President!

I thought I recalled he had a majority at least during his first term. Is that wrong?

Spector will likely be dead soon.

Not to be callous [sarcasm] but who will most likely replace him? Special election?

Frist failed to lead. He cannot control his own caucus.

Name me one person who could control that bunch of primma donna assholes? Frist brought this thing to the brink, and everyone believed that he had the votes. He was back-stabbed by a bunch of assholes, many of whom we have supported over the years. Should we continue to do so? I don't think so, and I've already expressed my feelings to them, via FAX's.

And, not one damned dime to the RNC, the RSCC or any other Republican organization until they get back in line.

I hope your right. Also, they might have agreed to a compromise for now because of the possible showdown with Iran & N. Korea in the next couple months. However, if the Dems filibusters a Bush Supreme nominee because of being a "Conservative" then Frist should change the Senate rules to end filibustering of Federal judges.

All this talk of staying home in 2006 is stupid. This will only increase the power of the RINOS and liberal Democrats.

I never claimed that

But I will help whoever runs against these RINO's in the Primaries

What were the first words we exchanged on this thread?

Hint, they are at post 892.

I'm polite to people who are polite. The fact that you can out-insult me perhaps makes you proud, but I'm sorry I've gotten into the gutter with you.

Frist is responsible for giving them an environment that allowed this to go forward. He allowed them to present this to an America who will view it as a positive instead of a negative. He didn't box them in. He didn't get America to align with him on this, and that's his fault. It's Bush's, too.

While Frist might not be a great leader you can't make a Senator do anything if they don't want to. Many of these RINO's do what they please because it is just so hard to get rid of them. It is ok to not like Frist but who would have done better?

Cajungirl; I won't argue with you. You seem like a nice person. During last summer's hurricanes, you gave me some advice on how to protect my aged loved one's in New Orleans. I don't hate anyone. I just want this country to get back on the track our founding fathers envisioned. It is extremely important that nominated judges only interpret the Constitution and do not make social policy from the bench.
