Caller to Schnitt Show *Claims* Terror Nuke in California "on the 9th"...(Crank Call?)
Schnitt Show ^

Posted on 05/23/2005 1:03:43 PM PDT by Recovering_Democrat

The link above will get you to listen to the show. Just before the end of the last hour, Todd Schnitt took a call from "Doug" (?) I think that was his name. Schnitt is going to talk with him off the air.

The guy claims to have had personal contact with Muslim extremists who tell him a bomb will go off in the San Fernando valley in California "on the ninth"...though he says he is UNSURE of what MONTH on the "ninth".

I do NOT put much credibility into these claims--but I did want to post this in case anyone else wanted to listen to Schnitt and see what his "investigation" of the guy revealed. The guy DID CLAIM to have alerted the FBI about this.

Sorry if this is a big waste--Mods, if you think the thread should be pulled because it is hearsay, then that is fine with me. But it was on the radio in Florida and Texas, where Schnitt's show is aired. He is a fairly conservative radio talk show host.

Man arrested in Houston plot to sell bomb to terrorists
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/3194338

A Pennsylvania man is in a Houston federal court this afternoon, accused of agreeing to build a bomb and sell it to a terrorist organization, according to court documents.

A criminal complaint accuses Ronald Allen Grecula, 68, of Bangor, Pa., of expressing his willingness to build a bomb to be used against U.S. citizens for a group he believed was affiliated with al-Qaida.

Prosecutors say in court documents that Grecula began negotiating with a confidential source in April. On May 11, an informant recorded telephone conversations about Grecula's willingness to build a bomb, investigators say.

An affidavit by FBI Agent Lisa R. Baldwin states that the confidential source had met Grecula in prison in the Mediterranean island nation of Malta. ~snip~

The 9th Circus gets it a$$ slapped every time its rulings go before the US Supreme Court and after we pack the SC with our judges (conservative) it will become even more irrelevant.

Careful, now people here will accuse you of wanting to nuke Jim Rob as well. It isn't enough to point out the irony of one of the most liberal areas of our country getting nuked by the same asshats they are cheering on, but it'll be deemed an attack on the "conservative" minority living in Kalifornistan as well.

Ever thought of maybe, I don't know, say IMPEACHING them? Or can't judges be impeached in Cali anymore? Y'all managed to oust Davis, getting rid of a couple of judges shouldn't be a big deal. Heck, I'd even contribute to the fund to get the ball rolling.

You have the usual exaggerated hysterical grasp of what a-bombs do.
A tactical nuke centered over San Francisco would have zero direct effect on Sonoma and Napa Counties. The prevailing winds normally are east-west.

I live in San Diego - but I have 3 precious grandchildren in Santa Maria - so this is a worry. It is a few miles north of San Fernando Valley, but it's too close for me.

And .. all I care about is did the guy report it to the proper authorities ..?? if not .. then I'm not sure it's very valid.

What can I say? I hope we don't get terror nuked. If we do, I hope it hits either Berkeley, San Francisco, or Hollywood.

I have lived in California (San Francisco, Marin County)all my life and it doesn't bother me one whit...

Can someone explain to me how the "I must be offended at every opportunity" works?

Did you know that in the US House of Representatives, California Republicans are the Chairmen of 7 different committees, including Ways & Means, Rules, Appropriations, Armed Services, and Homeland Security?

Texas House Republicans head exactly 7 fewer committees.

I pray its just a crank. Then again, I pray for a lot of things that never happen. I'd prefer Berkely come around of its own accord. I pray Islamic extremists will reform themselves without us having to kill them all. I pray Bush will some day find his veto stamp.

Which was kinda my original point. So it takes out a large area of Blue Kali. And? We fuggin' warned them. But they held their rallies, produced their movies, made us out to be the bad guys, denigrated our President, called our troops murders.

Exaclty how the hell am I supposed to feel?

Oh gee thanks. You could knock out NBCUniversal, Disney, Warner Bros. and hundreds of other media related companies (like ours) if you dirty nuked Burbank.

I live a few miles from the area...you can list me first on the Freeper honor roll if it happens

Well, the east part is right over my house. That's not so bad.

All the good stuff about us California Conservatives is true, and there are growing numbers of us out here regularly kicking our Legislators in their collective groin to prove that they have no stones.

Just the same, if we had to take a terrorist nuke, I'd have to wish it upon San Fernando, Berkeley or San Fran; the net effect being analogous to a dose of ipecac, an enema or a blood transfusion, respectively.

You are kinda hopeless. Aren't you...

Nope. I figure I got a million more Republican voters than you do, so I'm doing quite well. All I have to do is run interference on the RINOs who keep trying to muddle the message and I'll be quite fine thanks.
