I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD. I'm not boycotting the theaterical release because of its "politics," because whatever symbolism Lucas has tried to put into the film sounds lame. I'm not seeing it because the whole Star Wars "saga" has become tiresome.
No wonder there's so much misconception about this movie... Most think GL is Hollywood when the truth is GL hates Hollywood and all its stands for. GL built his own world in northern ca and finances his own movies so Hollywood can't tell him what to do.
LOL...after he graduates from Harvard Business School.
"Not going to see a movie because you fear it will offend your political sensitivities is plain silly."
Heck, I even rented The Contender on DVD. Guess I should be banned for life from FR.
Lucas himself said that his first series took inspiration from his opposition to the Vietnam War, and that the perils of empire that run throughout the Star Wars plot have applications to today's situation as well...He even made parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. So, based on your comment, I would agree that Geo. Lucas needs some therapy.
LOL.... We need to demand equal time and equal treatment for LOTR fans!
Lucas hates Hollywood; he loves Marin. That's worse! :-)
I thought he was going to buy the Cubs
I'm not really sneaking out, my summer hours are very brief and I'll get them in by early afternoon. But it's always wiser to not announce you're going - especially when the other Windows tech is going too and you'll have your cell phones off ;-)
I can top that...I thought "Million Dollar Baby" deserved the Oscar.
Bump!
Glad I'm not alone! I tried watching them, I was beyond bored.
It may be a great flick but aside from the end, it seems like any other old mentor, young protege film. Wait, she is a woman! How breathtakingly predictable... I mean original.
Arioch7 out.
I could go for a sizzling plot twist...That Luke isn't really the son of Anakan Skywalker, but is the illegitimate son of Obi-Wan Kenobi. THAT would make for a surprise ending.
Take a chill pill, conservatives!
Why shouldn't we FReep the poll?
On top of that, RoboCop is one of my favorite films even though it takes gratutitous shots at Reagan and Nixon. My expectations are so low, I would be happy if Sith just didn't suck. It is supposed to be the saving grace of the prequels, which have been OK (Phantom Menace) and crappy (Clones). Ain't no way I'm quitting now.
Question 1: do you plan to see Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith?
Answer: I plan to see the film.
Question 2: do you plan to PAY to see the film?
Answer: Not if I can help it.
