Congresswoman says more workers should be hired to patrol borders
- U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, called for Gov. Rick Perry to ask the Minutemen not to expand militia patrols of the U.S.-Mexico border from Arizona to Texas.
"I urge the governor to disinvite the Minuteman Project. Ask them not to come here," Jackson Lee said Sunday.
The group has posted volunteers in Arizona to alert authorities to illegal immigrants crossing the border.
Organizers have expressed an interest in recruiting in Texas and beginning patrols along the Rio Grande in October.
Jackson Lee said she sees it as the "dereliction of duty" by the federal government not to have improved staffing in customs and the border patrol.
She said she will advocate that money be increased to hire more workers to patrol the borders.
Sheila Jackson Lee is the worse excuse for a Congresswoman, that Texas has ever seen. She is an abomination to the halls of Congress. Somebody needs to tell her to keep her BIG MOUTH shut.
But, knowing Perry, he will probably kiss her b*tt!

Homeland Security: Congresswoman Jackson-Lee has been working hard in the Science and Judiciary Committees to help design a Department of Homeland Security, to make America safe from terrorism and simultaneously protect the dedicated employees that will make it possible. She pushed legislation to improve the ability of the Immigration and Naturalization Services to keep out dangerous individuals, while continuing to facilitate access for those individuals desiring legalization.
Not only that, but Minutemen don't play the politics game.
Most of the Texas border is private property. It is private citizens that have invited the Minutemen to patrol their private property. It isn't the governor's invite to "dis".
Jackson Lee should get a "disinvite" when her number comes up for reelection.
Think that would send a strong enough message that she made a stupid statement?
If she ain't smart now, which it seems she isn't judging from her comment, she won't get it then.
Duh ... Shelia ...
Minutemen 1 Government 0.
File your lawsuits Fox, won't mean squat unless we want em to.
"I urge the governor to disinvite the Minuteman Project"
Illiterate, as usual. I nicknamed her Sheila Malaprop over 10 years ago.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha... Good boink.
Umm...in my experience, women aren't very good at that. What's more, Camille Paglia agrees with me.
Try this then; Cardinal4 urges Jackson-Lee to p*ss off....
I'd sooner eat the as(*&le out of a skunk than one of them.
It says right on the back of my Texas hunting license that I have to
process and be accountable for all game animals taken in the state.
Uh, did I miss something here? Well, I got the impression that he did invite them, and SJLee was wanting him to disinvite them!
What a hell of a rule that is. You mean you'd have to? AAWKKK! Gag.
Now wait just a minute here...even the ones with a bounty on their heads?

"Hurricane names are too 'lily white'"
( 8/3/2003 ) The congressional newspaper the Hill reported this week that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) feels that the current names are too "lily white," and is seeking to have better representation for names reflecting African-Americans and other ethnic groups.
"All racial groups should be represented," Lee said, according to the Hill. She hoped federal weather officials "would try to be inclusive of African-American names."
A sampling of popular names that could be used include Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn, according to the paper.
We're working to get them reclassified from game animals to nuisance varmints.
Like wild hogs or coyotes. Or rats.
