Mike Isikoff is now better known for his stories that 1) were spiked; or 2) never should have run in the first place. And:
Spiked story was damaging to a Democrat administration.
Story that should have been spiked (but wasn't) was damaging to a Republican administration.
But, there is no MS media bias, according to the MS media.

Reese Schonefeld, CNN news founder, said he wouldn't have run this story no matter how many sources he had. Right. Because he realizes how damaging to our cause it could be. And for what? A brief moment of sensationalism? What Isikoff and Newsweek have done is traitorous and criminal. Like yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater, their actions are not protected by the Constitution and so they should be criminally prosecuted, rebuked, and disgraced.

Hello,
I just heard that if the free subscription and sports bag do not quiet the grieving and angry families, Newsweak is considering throwing in a free shower radio. A free set of knives was considered, but passed over for obvious reasons.
Glad to be here, MOgirl

If these guys are going to do this....
Then these guys have the right idea.

You and others are excusing the actions of some very deranged folks because of the hatred toward the MSM.If some group of peole want to act like an explosive, that's bad. If some other people want to act like a match lighting a fuse, that's bad too. Both are bad.
(My wife might start a riot if they announced they were out of popcorn, and she is very devout. ;) )

Spiked story was damaging to a Democrat administration. Story that should have been spiked (but wasn't) was damaging to a Republican administration.I just survived The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and a brace of common 'taters who discussed EVERYTHING BUT that critical aspect of this. That is the real question which makes the real distinction: Why spike Monica and the johnson but run with Korans in the John?

Are you sure this isn't simply a whitewash headline? Last I heard it was a weasel word non-apology apology. I'll believe it when you can post a real story.

Newsweek Retracts Story on Quran Abuse
NEW YORK (AP) - Newsweek magazine, under fire for publishing a story that led to deadly protests in Afghanistan, said Monday it was retracting its report that a military probe had found evidence of desecration of the Quran by U.S. interrogators at Guantanamo Bay.

Following the criticism, Whitaker released a statement through a spokesman later Monday saying the magazine was retracting the article.
"Based on what we know now, we are retracting our original story that an internal military investigation had uncovered Quran abuse at Guantanamo Bay," Whitaker said.

Interesting how MSM stories, decisions, omissions, and mistakes always have one particular orientation.

I noticed Mike Izakoff was not on Hardball tonight. Ole Mike's one of Chrissy's favorite guests.

The
NEWSWEEK MURDERS... This FRAUD story cost
many lives already, and a huge cost in dollar
terms, too. These FRAUDcasters have to be stopped.
NOW.
It is time for wartime censorship of these FRAUDcasters.

Perhaps this is not the time to be cynical. There are advertisers in this publication that we could write to. It would be better than making the expected jokes.

Yeah.. "Runaway Mike" is missing :) Maybe he'll call 911 and claim that he was kidnapped by a muslim hehehe.
Btw .. Chris Matthew is such a suck-up pompous buffoon :) Watching him interviewed Jean Francois Kerry before the 2004 election made me ill.
To: kcvl
Oh THANK GOD they retracted the story. Now if they could just bring back all the lives that were lost?
Piece of garbage

I'd love to know who the scumbag is in our government putting out B.S. propaganda designed to undermine our war effort.
