I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

Proud PBR sailor here--four years USN, less an early-out for in-country VN service.

Don't have a link, I was on a work computer at the time. It was a comment posted in response to an article on base closings on informedsources.com yesterday. The word "chickenhawk" was not used, but it was implied...

Boom operator!? I heard you guys had to be crazy to do that. Not nearly as crazy as the guys in the little aircraft (or not so little in the case of the B-52, B-1, B-2, C-5, C-17, C-141, and E-4) that they stick that thing into. Unless of course one is a long ways from a friendly runway and running on fumes, but most folks will do some pretty crazy stuff when they get desperate.

I suppose South Central LA would count, too. Or DC for that matter...... Nope, you can't legally shoot back in those place, as in a war and in Kentucky I would suppose. Actually you can shoot back, but you can't have a gun to shoot with, a real catch 22.
