I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

Only liberals believe people who are pro-military but have not served are "chickenhawks." Are you one of those too? First of all, no. This post was in response to a comment posted on informedsources.com in response to an article about base closings. It is not from DU, I do not post or even lurk there. If I wanted to vomit, I'd put my own finger down my throat. It's easier than reading the inane drivlings of people who actually believe they can create their communist utopia right here in my contry. To tell the truth k2blader I resent the implication. All I wanted to do here was give the freeper vets and families a chance to crow about the one thing eveyone should be proud of, service to their country and people.

Deck Seaman, U.S. Navy, 1961-1964; served aboard USS Vulcan (AR-5). Biggest mistake: declined opportunity to extend enlistment by six months for a Med cruise; got out two months early instead.

I'm a VN era Army Reserve slacker..does that count? No, you're a draft dodger just like George W. Bush and Dan Quayle. A real hero would have volunteered after running out of deferments, commanded a swift boat, got 4 purple hearts and spent Christmas in Cambodia in 1967 or 1968.
