Jennifer Wilbanks, the runaway bride whose disappearance triggered a nationwide search, has entered a voluntary medical treatment program.
According to a statement from the family's church, "Ms. Wilbanks entered a highly regarded, inpatient treatment program on her own volition to address physical and mental issues which, she believes, played a major role in her 'running from herself' as she described in a public statement last week."
Wilbanks entered the program late Monday. The location of the program and suggested duration of treatment was not disclosed.
Wilbanks was already undergoing professional treatment. On May 5, the pastor for the Wilbanks family, Dr. Tom Smiley, read a statement from Jennifer Wilbanks. In the statement, Wilbanks said she, "started professional treatment voluntarily," for the problems that led her to run away.
Dr. Smiley said the treatment was "professional therapy with certified, competent professionals." Smiley did not go into details about the treatment.
Wilbanks, 32, touched off an extensive search in April when she disappeared after leaving her Duluth, Ga., home for a jog just four days before her scheduled wedding.
Wilbanks turned up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She told police she had been abducted, but she later told authorities she took a bus to Las Vegas and then Albuquerque on her own.
I would pay a great deal to never see another news item about Michael Jackson again. If I were in the prosecution team, I'd say, "He's mutiliated his own face, he's admitted that he likes sleeping with young boys, he nearly dropped his child over a hotel railing. Something is not right here, and nothing the defence says can change the fact that he is psychologically unbalanced. At the very least, have him committed."

I putting money on her going on "Oprah" first then, Dr. Phil. Then her, the fiance & the pastor all show up on Larry King....
From what I saw of the pastor, he needs to be in treatment too.
Then Maury.
I got to wondering originally if maybe she didn't have an over-active thyroid. I used to know somebody who completely whacked out one day, and they were thin as a rail (just like her) and had bulging eyes (just like her) and were given to "weird mood swings".
Physical issues?
...or to British citizens who want to find out what is actually going on in America. The Runaway Barmy Bride is by no means a particularly serious story. She's a lunatic, the bloke who was going to marry her found out before he took a vow - he ought to be praising God for having informed him of the truth before any vows were said. End of story.

Perhaps she'll eventually turn up on that VH-1 show about has-been celebrities living together in one house, and she'll hook up with FlavaFlav or that guy from the Brady Bunch.
>From what I saw of the pastor, he needs to be in treatment too.<
Which Pastor?
He's their pastor and also a friend. What's the problem?
Physical issues could be an eating disorder. She looks borderline anorexic to my eyes.

Oh hells bells, over here there is a treatment program for anything!! Especially if it will get you out of admitting that you were at fault!
She has NOT apologized. Having your minister and lawyer read a statement they wrote apologizing for you is not apologizing. And being that she spent over $100,000 of the publics money on her charade, she clearly owes an explanation, apology, and restitution.
Source other than rumor mill or your fertile mind please.
Her father.
She's been ARRESTED for SHOP LIFTING THREE TIMES!!!
Is THAT reason she required so many bridal showers?
GIFT she didn't have to STEAL?
Throw her in JAIL and demand she make restitution.
Please tell me they're not going to make a "made for TV" film about her - eventually that sort of rubbish does wash up on our shores too.
Regards, Ivan
Update:
She's been arrest FIVE times, three reportedly for shoplifting.
What is the British equivalent of "Fruit Loop"?
"If her fiance thinks a marriage with her will work"Then he should seriously consider psychiatric help as well. What a marriage. This has disfunctional written all over it.
That wouldn't surprise me one bit. Flava Flav is taken, though. They were able to spin off an entire show about that, even. It'd have to be vern troyer.
What's with the pastor being so involved in this?
***
My sentiments exactly.
This woman is getting a lot of bad advice from a lot of people -- family, lawyers, pastor included.
