Most of Mrs. Bush's humor at the correspondents' dinner was just right: Edgy but not over the edge. But I think the stripper and horse jokes were totally beneath her.
Just put it to the other-shoe test: If it were Teresa Heinz Kerry standing up on the dais telling the same jokes, the conservative commentariat would be buzzing for the rest of the year about what a tasteless skank she is.

And here I thought all the single-digit IQs were over at DU.
If you can count to 9, what is your IQ?
Ill help you. The first number in the series is 1.
2 follows 1.
3 follow 2.
4 follow 3.
5 follow 4.
6 follow 5.
7 follow 6.
8 follow 7.
And
9 follow 8.

the lesson to be learned from 2000 is that they sat home because of a 30 year old DUI conviction. yes, I agree with you that its "small potatoes" in he scope of things, but the point is that it affected their vote. small things can affect alot of votes, and we need those votes, so why antagonize those people?
To: F16Fighter
OK sweetheart. Just checking. :)

I guess it never occurred to you that it's NOT your signup date that bothers everybody, eh?I knew that already.
I have an unpopular point of view. I expect to get flamed, but I could do without the insults.

It was a vile thing to do. Those alive during the Eisenhower era can scarcely imagine Mamie doing such a thing in public. A lot of people aren't very offended by the killing of millions of babies a year, either. Things have slipped in our country...

Damn, Chicken Little, aren't we being a bit over dramatic there? comparing what Laura Bush said to ABORTION? And I had already thought I have seen it all on this thread! Woooweee....

I'm really the wrong person for you to be posting your response to I'm just responding to your response to me. You had a question about "christians" or some such. My point is that good christians who voiced an opinion were equated with the Muslim Taliban. Way out of line.

Uh-huh.
I don't disagree that feminism is-or has become-a tool of socialists and others of that stripe. However, IMO, it really seems out of place in this thread.
That was my point in calling it baloney. It's irrelevant to the discussion about the relative merits/appropriateness of the First Lady's remarks. Disagree if you like, and I'll disagree with you.
Have a good night.

Hi, wardaddy. How you doing?
I appreciate the tone of your post and have a question. Aside from the Terri matter, what position have I ever taken on this forum that you could possibly be to the right of me on? I didn't think anyone was to the right of me.
