Just as they ignored terrorism through the 90s. They would rather chase Delay around, even if it means rewriting old news, than cover the issues.

BINGO

He did a good job answering Gregory's question about religion & judges

I was born in 51...yikes!

We're screwed. We knew we would be. They've been stealing my money for 34 years--too young to get anything back, and too old to benefit from any reform. Companies no longer have retirement benefits, and medicare will collapse. I'm gonna find an iceberg and float away when I get to old to support myself and all the yahoos who won't work.

It is more like they are keeping pace w/the car. They don't have a lot of endurance and they drop off after you get past 40 mph. They don't get real high, either.

Now, please get out there and talk to your fellow seasoned citizens!

I do, dear, and I will.

The old folks (who are not affected) and the libs don't care about the voluntary part. They don't trust the stock market. I've had this discussion many times already.

You and me both. The damn AARP and the MSM have been very effective in scaring the "old folks" on this issue...

Can someone please tell me what the year was that Bush mentioned that those born before that year don't have the option of participating in his proposal.

"Bigger benefits for the "poor."

That isn't going to go over with the folks who've been railing against the "totalization with mexico" scam.

FDR did a wonderful thing creating SS.
That is disputable.
I don't understand why don't we hear more of this (below)? So many know this, but it is hardly ever said. Every time a politician refers to the "Social Security Fund" I want to cringe.

From the Freedom Keys site:IMHO lots of good talking points on there.

"Many people are unaware that the money that is taken out of their paychecks for Social Security is not -- repeat, not -- being put aside to pay for their retirement. That money is paying for people who are retired right now, and anything that is left over is being spent by politicians in Washington for anything from farm subsidies to Congressional junkets. ... Liberals are desperate to keep Social Security the way it is, because that means they can keep spending your money as they see fit and keep you dependent on them. That's what the welfare state is all about." -- Thomas Sowell...

You aren't going to in all likelihood.

I would be willing to forgive past debt for future control.

In fact if we want reform that is likely what we are going to have to do. No matter what happens someone is going to pay and get little or nothing in return. If we had started ten, twenty or thirty years ago the price would have been lower and the longer we let it go on the worse it it going to get.

Has the president mentioned anything about the open borders, Mexico, and the trade deficit? No? I didn't think so.
