Father arrested over objections to homosexual curriculum in son’s kindergarten class.

LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, APRIL 27. Lexington parent, David Parker, was arrested today by the Lexington Police for “trespassing” at his son’s elementary school during a scheduled meeting with the principal and the city’s Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials and discussions in his son’s kindergarten class.

At the meeting, Parker demanded that the school inform him when homosexual subjects are to be discussed with his son, and allow his son not to be included in such activities. He said he would not leave until his request was granted. The Principal and the city’s Director of Education both refused his request. They then telephoned the Superintendent of Schools who also refused. Police were called, who told Parker that unless he left the school he would be arrested.

Statement by David Parker(April 27, 2005):

“I, David Parker, am the father of a kindergarten student at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of this school year, my wife and I have learned that school materials and discussions about gay-headed households/same-sex union issues have been exposed to the children. There are definitive plans to increase the teacher/staff/adult mediated discussions of these subjects.

“We have officially stated on many occasions—to the Lexington school administration—a request that we be notified when these discussions are planned, and want our 6-year-old opted out of such situations when arising “spontaneously”.

“Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied with no effort at accommodation. In our meeting on April 27, I, insisted that such accommodation be made and refused to leave the meeting room. I was informed that I would be arrested.”

Parker will be arraigned on Thursday, April 28, in Concord District Court at 9 am. “This is an unbelievable outrage,” said Brian Camenker, a friend and Newton, Mass. parent. “It’s where last year’s same-sex ‘marriage’ ruling has brought us.”

When my daughter was in a public elementary school they tried to tell me I could not come to the school without calling first and arranging the time.

I told them to stuff it. I said I would come any time I like (and stop by the office to let them know I was there) and observe at my daughter's class. And I did.

The administrators of public schools forget who owns the schools ... the PUBLIC. In particular, parents should be welcome at the school.

Yes civil unions only, but be prepared! I have spoken with a couple teachers, and they are already upset. To quote one "We are going to have to teach homosexual sexuality next year, we don't even teach normal sex as in depth as they are requiring us to teach homosexuality!"

Heads up!

Secular humanism is a religion. It is now the State religion. It is the religion being taught and promoted in public schools.

Secualr humanism consists of a system of well defined beliefs. It is a creed, a religion.

The State religion is hostile to Christianity.

It is time to start sueing school systems nationwide for forcing their beliefs and their religion onto our children.

Should we be blessed with ankle-biters, he will be the father and I will be the mother. (At least, that's what we discussed.)

Good heavens! Wasn't it you who, not long ago, was saying what an awful parent she would make? Now you're getting married and talking about having kids? Deo gratias!

As someone who was uncertain about how he would be as a father, let me just say that the mere anticipation and arrival of the baby must trigger something instinctual in both mom and dad. Now after three kids, I simply can't imagine life without them anymore. It's more joy than I deserve, frankly.

Have kids. I think you'll be a great mom.

It sure is!!!!! And there are lawyers standing by from the Alliance Defense Fund to represent parents free of charge to do just that. Schools better be prepared, they are setting themselves up for some serious law suits.

I know a family who moved south, and are waiting to get their son back on track and settled, then they will sue. The school was responsible for him almost committing suicide, because they had him almost convinced he was gay, which he was not. And it distressed him so much he refused to go back, and became so distressed. They actually told him he was, and it was ok, and he needn't be afraid to come out. All because he didn't play sports and preferred to write and read. He protested, and they kept pushing him to admit something that wasn't true.

No one can convince me this is not indoctrination! Even this kids peers were convinced, because of the teachings of the school, that this kid was homosexual. HE KNEW in his heart he was not, and he liked girls. He is a geek, NOT a homosexual. Thank God, he told his parents, and they were able to help him in time. They will sue!!

TITLE: "Father arrested for refusing to leave son's school"?

A title is meant to give the subject of the article. You don't see how your's would be more "misleading" then the one used? Your title would hide the real story - which IS ABOUT HOMOSEXUAL CURRICULUM. (Trespass charges don't normally merit any attention, let alone an article posted on FR.)

It seems that decades of MSM indoctrination has left its residual effects: Even after alternate media has opened discussion to previously excluded subjects, many still remain unable to process the information honestly.

You're sweet!

That was indeed me. I'm still pretty sure I'm unfit for motherhood, but since the potential exists, we had to cover it.

You had to go and be logical, didn't you?

IMO anything dealing with homosexuality is Sex Education - and it should NOT be in kindergarten classrooms.....story book or not.

The teachers don't even like some of the 'approved' crapola, but lacking any parental input, they're stuck with teaching it anyway.

So far I have not encountered anything that I have a problem with - but my daughter is only in 1st and 2nd grade.....but I assure you I will continue to be paying attention.

30 years from now when you're at your son's wedding, you'll probably laugh that you ever thought such a thing!

If you're a woman, you're fit for motherhood.

I'm not so sure about that . . . Andrea Yates and Susan Smith are women.

You're not really putting yourself in that category, are you? :-)

The prinicipal would not submit himself to the law as the parent demanded. Technically, trespassing is what got him arrested. But make no mistake the man was arrested for not submitting to school authority.

There is allegedly more to this than is in the article. Here are other pieces of information I have heard:

1. Dave was on the anti-bias committee at the school. They did this behind his back and announced it to the committee after it was a done deal.

2. The leader of the committee is a lesbian mom...can you "agenda"?

3. Dave has been pursuing this issue "legally" for some time with no resolution.

I admire him for taking it all the way to jail.

Good for you. More parents should do exactly what you did.

My daughter's elementary school has a pretty open door policy for parents (same for all schools in the district) the only requirement being stopping by the office first. In addition to encouraging "drop in observation" there is at least one scheduled "open house" each term for parents during the school day.

The administrators of public schools forget who owns the schools ... the PUBLIC.

I completely agree.

Brian Camenker has been made an object of ridicule by The Newton Tab,but he's a fighter.

The gay agenda is being pushed down these kids' throats and we need more Parkers and Camenkers to fight the good fight.

I am also betting that your kids know Who created the heavens and the Earth and all those other things and creatures and that they know they have no monkeys as ancestors. They probably understand what is wrong with abortion and how to define marriage. Likely they can run circles academically around the gummint skewel denizens as well. Would you settle for a refundable tax credit of $5,000 per child? Your kids get a real education at home from their loving parents and the taxpayers save half the money! Sounds like a plan to me.

God bless you and yours.

Sometime, but not until it's too late, they will recall the scripture that says: "What doeth it prosper a man, if he gain the whole world and loseth his own soul?"

Love the Bible quote, bookmarked and saved, it says it all.

Before you use it, if you're gonna be all archaic-like, you might want to change "doeth" to "doth."
