"Help! I cant afford to fill my tank anymore!" This is becoming the cry of the American driver and the rising costs of fuel are distressing every facet of our economy. With prices soaring at our pumps, choosing between a gallon of petrol and a gallon of milk is fast becoming a households budget dilemma. When it comes to deciding whether we want to drive a gas-guzzler or buy a carton of milk- the milk will win every time. Gas just doesnt soak up the flavor of our Coco Krispies the way milk does.
Certainly, overall, Americas gas prices are much less than those of Europe but were spoiled and used to having our gas guzzling SUVs and monster 4x4s. The problem with the rising costs of our energy sources isnt just about what drizzles down our auto tanks and burns carbon crap into our air- its how the pricing of energy begins to inflict pain in almost every venue of our lives.
Those big semi-trucks that deliver our groceries to our local supermarket are feeling the gasoline pinch too, this is being reflected at our stores by the daily increase of necessities and food items. The basics such as clothing, food, cooling and heating of our homes are headed for trouble. Inflation has been rising for about a year now, and as of yet we arent headed down the path of the 1970s, but if action and relief arent administered to help deter the rising costs of fuel, we could be headed towards an ugly summer and a dreadful year. . . . .

It's Bush's fault. He wasn't satisfied with just starving the children and throwing Grandma out into the snow bank. Now he's going after everyone.
You need to ask your shrink to up your meds before you go postal and hurt innocent people.
I just can't believe that people cannot afford to spend an extra 30-40 a month on gasoline.
I should rephrase that . . . I just can't believe that people can't tighten spending by 30-40 a month to account for higher gas prices.
Good grief. Talk about not wanting what you ask for in life.
First, gas should be much higher. Not only will it encourage walking and the development of different forms of transit, it will keep everyone's waistlines from ballooning. Less makes it to market, is more expensive, and fewer trips to the local grocery and mall results.
Learn to grow things, sweetie, and learn to use much much less. Very bad for the environment to throw things away. Learn composting.
Higher oil and nat gas prices will spur exploration and development.
I just see this as a win-win situation for all those lefties who have been whining about societal problems. Why don't they agree now?
And yeah, the tagline is for real.
How does most everything you purchase reach the place where you do so?
Not too many bits aye Mike? Doom and Gloom!
It's costing the average driver with a 17 gallon tank approximately $8.00 more per tank full. Now if that is the difference between starving or deciding whether or not to buy gallon of milk, then I suggest a career move!
Bye, bye.
It's costing me about an extra $150 a month. At least that much.

I can. Lot of people are strapped (due to overspending, lost jobs, lower paying jobs, have to pay more for health insurance etc). My wife is a vet and some people can only pay $10 or 20.00 a month to pay their bill.
A good friend has a heating/pluming business. It used to be if their hot water heater went out they would pay the whole bill in cash or check. Today they want to make $25 or 50.00 monthly payments.
Of course most people are not like this but it's getting worse.
Mike, I'm so conflicted.

Because of idiotic "environmental" controls, this country hasn't built a new gasoline refinery in 30 years. The same goes for nuclear power plants, which would free up oil supplies now used to generate electrical power. The same environmental controls mandate complicated formulations for gasoline that vary from region to region, adding yet more to the cost. We desperately need a common sense energy policy but entrenched liberals and Greens block it at every turn. You want to blame somebody for high gas costs, look in the mirror.

Guess that answers my question.
Can't wait to hear how Hillary plans to fix this...
What are you driving and how many miles a month are you driving?
Gee. All the people I deal with want payment in full. They even take charge cards.
Oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank. They're getting our money and the stock in their companies is at all time high which means the stockholders and bondholders are happy, and the refineries are happy because more is being paid for them to refine the oil. Yeah, "stick it to the consumers" is the battle cry.
Still favor the idea of a coordinated, nationwide one-day-a-week (for starters) boycott on filling up the gas tank.
Canada Free Press......
Fuel is probably less than 1/4 the cost of driving.
Cut your driving by 10% and you will not only save fuel, but wear-and-tear.
And you will probably eliminate some unneeded restaurant meals or shopping.
