KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
Police said they arrested a man for spitting on Academy Award winning actress Jana Fonda during a book-signing stop in Kansas City Tuesday night.Fonda, 67, spoke at Unity Temple, in The Plaza shopping district, about her new book, "My Life So Far" and her new movie with Jennifer Lopez called "Monster-In-Law."
At about 9 p.m., police said a man who had been waiting in line for about 90 minutes, passed a book to Fonda and then spit a large amount of tobacco juice into her face.
Thy said the man then ran away and was taken into custody by off-duty officers, who were providing security for the event.
Fonda declined to prosecute the man for allegedly spitting in her face.
Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, which is a city charge.
Well, at least in Kansas it's only disorderly conduct. In California, it would be assault.
What snide little comment? You're just another disruptive poster who makes pointless remarks.
I have not read all of the more then 400 posts (as this is written) in this thread, but you may want to check your facts on the "Apology".
As I recall, it was limited in scope and more of an "I am sorry I did something that all of you are so PO'd about."
I have not seen or read of any actions taken by Fonda to try and make up for some of the damage that she did. Something like lets say a $10,000,000 donation to a college scholarship fund for children of deceased (or disabled) veterans.
I would agree....
As far as I'm concerned, he's a hero! M
That is a VERY offensive comment. There are many VN veterans who are mentally disabled from post traumatic stress disorder. Ones who have been rated by the VA with PTSD deserve their veterans' benefits. And you say 'government Leech.'
Listen up and take your own name's advice.

MANY know what's what. You - justshutupandtakeit - DON'T know. I observed on your home page here, you don't list any military experience. So justshutupandtakeit.
Take your own advice. justshutupandtakeit or better yet, justshutupandlearn!!!
Yeah, everyone is fine, except those who disagree with the "lynch mob"..
Dang fly on my monitor.
I agree. I don't like the things she did. I don't know how anyone can honor her for anything. However, I think it is disgusting to spit on anyone, especially spitting this stuff. Yuck.
IM GLADE there are still some real men around. Lets see you think spitting is disgusting but being a traitor and branding a whole generation of men as baby killers as OK? What do you have to say to all those GIs (myself included) that were spit on when we came home from serving honorably?
thank goodness, there are a apparently, more than a few people out there who still believe in public civility..
My mother is very proud of her patriotic children (and her husband, her brother and her father) who served in the military in order to make the Nation safe for the likes of hanoi jane.
My mother knows that FREEDOM ISN'T FREE.
please see my #41 post thanks

Exton, I admire those who served in VietNam--with the love of one who is in your debt. Thank God for you and the other brave Americans who DID NOT RUN.

No kidding, younger folks don't have a clue what happened! They read BS and believe it.
Arrgh!
I remember.
See how much I mean it! I posted it twice!
:-)
I have said that he certainly earned the right, but I really don't like our side doing this. There is a difference between this and Coulter. Coulter was hit with a pie because of her conservative ideas that they find difficult to refute. The traitor *itch was spit upon because she was a traitor and caused men to be tortured and die.
As much as I dislike Hanoi Jane, I wish she'd have pressed charges.
