True. Electing Pope's is historic in the sense there are so few.

But in the sense I witness history in the moment as a non Catholic, I am struck by the witness to Christianity being made by its foe- the MSM.

I personally am taking great enjoyment in the fact that the MSM is overcome by the power of Christianity world wide. As a Christian it thrills me to witness this rare moment when the secular Left is reduced to nothing. When illusions of Power are stripped away and they are forced to confront that Christianity is not dead despite their persecutions. That is infact more powerful than they will ever be.

But I note the persecution of Christians of all denominations will receive a backlash as they react with fury to this realization. In our own country they are already angered about TPOTC and G.W.'s election, not to mention the temerity we might correct the Judicial system. This is going to further drive them to insanity.

I really feel that the prayers of all the Non Catholics but pro-lifers helped us get this wonderful man chosen as our new Pope. Thank you Pope John Paul II (the Great),you did good, and you can truly rest now. I love the way we all are together on this, life is so much more important than trivial matters that may divide us. Gotta get more tissues.

This is joyous moment not only for catholics.. but for all us, who believe in decency, in morality, in traditions, in truth, and truth does not change to fit the times.

Rush is waiting for some leftist media outlet to call him "the Panzer Pope". We probably won't have to wait long, I'm afraid...

"This has been a beautiful and exciting morning. I wish the Catholic Church well and blessings on Pope Benedict XIV! From an Evangelical Christian."

Thank you for your very kind words, Libertina. What a loving and kind Lord we have! What a glorious day for all Christians! God bless you, Libertina.

Your opinion sucks and isn't based in reality.

Not bad. But it will see a rise in liberal and secular humanist anti-Catholic agitation.

You should be delighted - Sky News just mentioned that the new Holy Father is a big fan of Mozart.

I'm trying to remember the last time "they" were right about anything.

Time and temperature.

Okay, maybe just the time.

Even with the time they're only right twice a day.

Are you saying the Catholic Church assisted the murderers in the Holocaust?
Your comments are disgusting.

Not sure why but I started crying when they first announced the news that there was a new Pope... Very moving moment and I'm a Protestant!

so did i! although i was raised Catholic but became Protestant many years ago... for me it may be nostalgia... i don't know... i'm feeling very celebratory!

Tell that to my Sephardic Jewish ancestors who were shipped out of Spain to the New World.

You'd rather be in Spain?;) Did they, as some did, claim to be Catholic while remaining at heart Jewish? That was, in part, one of roles of the inquisition. Were they expatriated by the Church, which didn't have the authority to do so or by the secular government which did?

I agree it was overblown, but it is still a black mark.

Mistakes were made, Lord forgive us. The Church should never be a source of suffering for the innocent.
