TAMPA, Fla. -- State investigators found no evidence that Terri Schiavo had been abused or exploited by either side of her family, according to documents released by Florida's Department of Children and Families.
The agency investigated 89 complaints dating back to 2001, when Schiavo's feeding tube was removed for the first time and the legal battle surrounding her right-to-die case intensified.
The calls alleged that the brain-damaged woman was being mistreated by her husband and her parents for financial gain. One complaint alleged that Schiavo's parents were selling videos of her through a Web site; another said Schiavo's husband wasn't spending money intended for her rehabilitation.
But investigators said they found no evidence that either her husband or parents were exploiting her, and often noted in their records that they found Schiavo well cared for on their visits to her Pinellas Park hospice.
The agency released the records Friday under court order.
Schiavo, 41, died last month after her feeding tube was removed for the third time, ending a bitter court battle between her husband, Michael Schiavo, and parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, over whether she would have wanted to live in a vegetative state.
The repeated allegations of abuse were based partly on bone scans showing Terri Schiavo suffered fractures and statements she made to family and friends that she was unhappy in her marriage.
Schiavo's husband has denied harming his wife. His lawyer said the fractures resulted from osteoporosis caused by the woman's years of immobility and complications of her medication.
Robert Schindler declined to comment there on the release of the DCF documents. An attorney for Michael Schiavo did not immediately return calls

You are correct. And a couple of doctors, Crawford?, said that Terri's EEG was the most severe he'd ever seen.
Also, patients who show no signs of consciousness after their eyes open usually fit the criteria for the vegetative state(VS).

After moving south 7 years ago, we were lectured ad naseum by our doctor about drinking enough water and not much caffeine.
My dad had a stroke after working outside in the heat and drinking too much coffee. His electrolytes and potassium were way off as were other things, of course.

Hey Peach, I'm just now reading Wolfson's report that you referenced. Are you deliberately ignoring Pearse's sworn testimony about Michael's hearsay testimony that Terri didn't want to remain in a vegetative state, and that he was "...necessarily adversely affected by the obvious financial benefit to him of being the sole heir at law..." and "...specifically referencing Michael's change in position relative to maintaining Theresa following the malpractice award."
This is in the body of the report that you posted as the primary source of your position. Do you believe the sworn testimony of the Guardian Ad Litem, Pearse, when he recommended that the feeding tube be kept in place, or are you being deliberately disingenuous?!?!

Nope. We DON'T KNOW for sure about how Terri got in the shape she was that night that it happened. I've learned the hard way over the years that sometimes a thing can look awful much like it's one thing, when in reality it's another. That can work either way, though. - I just simply don't like Mikey for his sudden memory spurt seven years into the deal and right after the big malpractice settlement paid FOR TERRI'S REHABILITATION, and then in the face of his own common law setup plus two kids with another woman to relentlessly pursue the killing of Terri in spite of her parents' passionate offer to take over Terri's care. It LOOKED LIKE he was afraid he was going to lose out, or worse, if he lost CONTROL . If there are no books or movies coming from Felos and Mikey, I'll be really surprised at Mikey's display of discretion and complete selflessness. IF Mikey had insisted from Day 1 that Terri "didn't want to live like this", it would have looked better for him. As it is, he looks pretty much like a probable cruel, greedy "Felos Flunky".
IF OR WHEN you see a book on the shelf at your nearest Walmart with either Mikey or Felos' big lovable mugs on the cover or a poignant made for tv movie advertised on CBS, remember this.

I am much more interested in any abuse that occurred prior to 1999. I see that was excluded from examination.

I also read the parts in the WOlfson report that you are ignoring.
That MS provided excellent care for Terri. So good that nurses were intimidated by him because he was so demanding.
I read that report over a month ago but believe it's Wolfson's report that also references the gruesome testimony of the parents that even if Terri woke up and said that she didn't want to be kept alive, they would keep her alive. They also testified to this under oath.
They also testified that if she needed multiple amputations because of poor circulation and diabetes, they would keep her alive.
It was also the Wolfson report, wasn't it? that mentioned that MS offered to give up any future benefit from money left in Terri's court controlled account from the malpractice suit. An offer the Schindlers never took up because it wouldn't give them the conspiracy theory that he was just wanting her dead for money.
It was either the Wolfson report or the 2002 court testimony.
If you could find an MD to diagnose ANYONE as a "veggie" would you advocate killing them?

We are talking about this case. And the unsourced, unverified rumors that some freepers prefer to believe vs. court testimony.

Prior to the revision of GAL Wolfson's report, was the prior GAL Pearces' report, chronologically closer to the actual events of Michael Schiavo's change-of-heart.
I'll stick with what Pearce said while he (Pearce) was 'testifying under oath'. And that was that Michael was not believable - all this from 1997, right around the time that Michael 'remembered' Terri's 'wishes', the 'wishes' that the Greer Reaper leaned upon so heavily in order to justify starving, and dehydrating her to death.
Pearce is the man for me.
Talk about a Freudian slip..So Terri isn't, correction wasn't "anyone", just a cause for debate.

This debate does have implications for lots of people across the board including children.
Pearce who also thought she was PVS (as did all her GALs and her parents and doctors)? Nothing wrong with liking him. He just wasn't as far away from the other GAL reports as you think.
so you, just like greer, are perfectly content to accept ONLY the "word" of mikey schiavo and his brother and sister-in-law that this is PROOF of what terri would want.

But I've made it clear that I'm talking about this case right now. Not other cases and that I haven't researched and where there is little information to go on but your portrayal of them.
My primary concern has been stated repeatedly, but not believed, because some new freepers prefer to shout and scream instead. That's a pity.
