COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 16-year-old disabled girl was punched and forced to engage in videotaped sexual acts with several boys in a high school auditorium as dozens of students watched, according to witnesses.
Authorities are investigating and no charges have been filed in the alleged attack last month at Mifflin High School. Four boys suspected of involvement were sent home and have not returned to class.
Also, the principal, Regina Crenshaw, was suspended and will be fired for not calling police, school officials said. And three assistant principals were suspended and will be reassigned to other schools.
Crenshaw had no comment Tuesday.
The girl was forced to perform oral sex on at least two boys, according to statements from school officials, obtained by The Columbus Dispatch.
Part of the alleged assault was videotaped by a student who had a camera for a school project.
School officials found the girl bleeding from the mouth. An assistant principal cautioned the girl's father against calling 911 to avoid media attention, the statements said. The girl's father called police.
Her father said the girl is developmentally disabled. A special education teacher said the teen has a severe speech impediment.

All that kind of thinking does is reduce the liability of the guys that raped her - "its not their fault, their culture or their race caused it." Its the same thinking that Jesse Jackson uses to say that blacks are unfairly treated in the justice system.
If we stopped being so obsessed with race in situations like this, we would have the credibility to do something about ending affirmative action and closing the mexican border without everyone thinking its for racial reasons.
Two boys raped a disabled girls - prosecute the two boys. Who cares what race they are.
The sick part of this is that it happened a MONTH ago and no one has been charged. Why?

Careful now, you're about to get hit with the old "that's only because cops, judges, and juries are all racist bigots, so more minorities get convicted than white people", or the other classic, "it is because of their impoverishment and hopelessness". In other words, any way you try to slice it, they'll tell you it's the white man's fault, that culpability lies with the white "oppressors" and not with the actual perps themselves.

Disgusting. The administrators are clearly in much trouble, possibly facing criminal charges.
My hope is that the administrators have their credentials revoked by the state. A larger problem is why did several administrators believe this was the best course of action. Could be the signs of many other problems in the school.
Not to mention a possible huge lawsuit that school taxpayers will end up footing the bill for...
Yes it was done before. The only difference is, you're right, the teens would have been shot or strung up. And such punishment would have had some sort of deterrent effect.
The boys in question today will get free legal help, paid for by our tax dollars, and their grieving, welfare-besotted, fat overweight mothers will sob on the stand that they are good boys who just got a little wild.

Frankly not knowing the races of the attackers does nothing for me... I can say that based on the information of this article I make the assumption these boys fall into one of TWO categories...
1) Urban (likely minority) or 2) Overprivaleged Kids of UMC (likely white).

Bull, its because the basics of social structure in these neighborhoods have collapsed. I am not going to say there are no racist cops out there... I know there are, have to deal unfortunately with them too regularly. I'm not going to say that there are racists judges out there either... I'm just not that naive.
However, I know that I don't see the sort of violence in some neighborhoods I see in others... and its not the color of the skin, but the lack of character thats the problem.
How can boys grow to be men if Daddy's not around? And not only is their Daddy not around, but no one they know has a dad that lives with them? How to little girls grow up to be young women, when they have no father in the home? They have no model of what a male/female relationship should be? They have no male attention in their lives, other than dogs sniffing around their crotches... and since that's all they know, that's what they'll take?
Its not the color of skin, you get that behavior to happen in any neighborhood, black, white, hispanic, or polka dot, you are going to wind up with the same problems.
In terms of Kids, I've personally found that other that the REALLY BAD URBAN neighborhoods... and I mean the REALLY bad ones... they generally aren't as bad as they are made out to be.. but they do have issues. The area's though where the kids are completely running amok are more the UMC.. where they are just overprivaleged, used to getting whatever they want, and bored.
A 250k house in a 250k+ neighborhood sits vacant for a few months, I guarantee you the kids have turned it into a party house, graffittied the walls and kicked out the drywall etc etc etc.... a 50 or 60k house in a 50 or 60k neighborhood... is far less likely to be vandalized if it sits vacant for the same amount of time. A curious observation that I have noticed time and time again.
Good post - I agree completely. By bringing race or culture into the equation it lesses the culpability of the rapists.
I know that you were not arguing race as an excuse, but by others focusing on the race/culture aspect of the rapists it opens the door to paint them as products of their race/culture.
Nashville has maybe the least inner city crime of any large Southern city.
The public secondary schools are shot except for I hear...a couple of magnet schools.
Nashville only has a few large pockets that are truly South Bronx rough but they bus problem kids all over town. There was a shooting recently at a high school that is literally in a neighborhood with million dollar homes and when asked who did it the principal replied that the violence was the work of Bordeaux kids (minority) in gangs who were bused in to meet racial quotas. Simply, the truth. He was demoted and transferred and a minority principal brought in. That is just how it is.
But it is not nearly as bad as Memphis for example.
I work in the public here with my businesses. The problems with the schools notwithstanding, the biggest source of irritation for me insofar as theft and vandalism and "problems" are white trash gangstas.....feral looking creatures with shaved heads and loads of attitude who have actually lost the ability to speak the King's English.
I have a deep loathing for them.
