Part 7 - EASTER SUNDAY -NO FOOD OR WATER 10-11TH DAYS- SHE'S FIGHTING TO LIVE [Schiavo]
Continuing thread ^ | 03/27/05 | various

After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.

Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.

Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.

The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

As long as Terri is alive I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I know what I think of the situation as it is but I'll hold those thoughts while hope remains.

I keep praying also, since that is all that is left to
those that can not go there. I sent money and I emailed,
yet I sit here and think how have we come to this sad
condition. So many people can't see the simple fact
that Terri is being murdered by her adulterous 'husband'.

"Can a President unilaterally end an air traffic controller's strike? Can a President order the 101st Airborne in to Arkansas to protect school children from the National Guard and the Governor? Can a President have his Attorney General send Federal Marshals and FBI agents to Alabama and Mississippi to intervene and investigate the affairs of those States?"

In each of these instances, the POTUS was enforcing existing Federal law. In Terri's case, no Federal law existed that overrode the Florida Laws regarding legal guardianship and the right to murder yer ex-spouse.

"I remember Ronald Reagan's presidency."

So do I...very fondly as a mater of fact. Still, I think is unfair to compare Dubyuh's perceived inaction against a supposed reaction that our favorite POTUS of the past "may have had."

I think the threats are fabricated too. The police can't do anything.

Meanwhile back at Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, I was threatened and the police couldn't do anything, they called it "free speech" and told me to move along. The PA Schiavo's are now enjoying free speech of others as much as I did if true.

"Perceived"? "Unfair"? I don't think you remember Ronald Reagan much less his presidency.

what's sick is that msnbc has a plastic brain and they are discussing autopsies. And we didn't think they could SINK ANY LOWER. (well besides hiring Ron Reagan Jr).

Ridiculous thought! It is we who are supposed to be in tune with the Senate and House, not the other way around.

Of the Legislature, By the Legislature, For the Legislature...

that's how it's done in Florida!

I know a few folks in the OEOB and also over at State Dept.

They have given inklings/hints to me of a 'political fix' that is in, and precisely the idea to ramp up issues on Foreign Policy (such as Afghanistan, ironically for 'Women's Rights' of all things), etc. to take it away from this domestic Florida right to life case--which is politically damaging, is indeed a political move. I saw it even before I could even hear this from a few of them. I'm not surprised. I see you caught it too.

I truly believe that President Reagan would have stepped in to stop this murder.

The Governor and the President have the authority and Pres. Reagan would have exercised his authority. He did, when he bombed the Libyan President Qaddafi. Congress passed an unjust law, not to target the heads of State that were our enemies. We could only wage war, not target the sadistic dictators. Reagan said he was targeting something else, but everyone knew Omar Qaddafi was his real target.

The law was passed after the rumors that Kennedy had the CIA assassinate Diem in South Vietnam, our ally, not our enemy. Reagan could see through the unjust law Congress past that tied our hands against people like Qaddafi and acted. He acted quickly and decisively in Grenada too.

Pres. Reagan was a practical man, He would have helped Terri.

Eisenhower sent the federal troops into the South to protect the civil rights of people. I believe he also would have done something to protect Terri's civil right to life.

No, I don't. Is it the same number as last time? Or a new number.

In any event, it seems not to be of much importance to the legislators, no matter the number of the bill. Ho-hum, just another day for them.

Not even the XIVth Amendment? The Constitution contains a Presidential Oath of Office that says something about defending the Constitution. It also says something about the President seeing to it that the law is faithfully executed. It also says that the Constitution itself is the Supreme Law of the Land.

How does a state law on guarianship trump the right to life, due process and equal justice under the law of the XIVth A.?
