Mod note: Calls for violence will result in suspensions
Michael Schiavo has filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking them to stay out of the case.
Question. Where is the nearest military hospital to where she is being held? If the Prez sends in the Marshalls... That would be a place to go where the Judge couldn't touch her...
ok sent -
This whole thing stinks so bad it hurts....................
So I guess I am supposed to assume this judge really cares about Terri's privacy rights?
Funny since he is in the process of killing her. Too bad he hasn't respected any of her other rights - like right to life - by sentencing her to death on heresay.
In general, I personally am against the release of private medical records to the public, but spare me the argument that this Judge cares so much about Terri and the law that this is what motivates him to not release her records - this judge who is in contempt of Congress, this judge who appointed himself as Terri's caretaker in this case (while never even visiting her) as well as the judge in this case - a violation of Florida law, as I understand it.
My question too - why does Michael want to cremate Terri against the wishes of her parents absent any evidence that this is what Terri would want? Just to spite the parents or for some other reason?
Felos just got into Gov. Bush's face. I think that's gonna be the last straw..I think the good Gov. is going to go in.
'Seems fitting for those determined that Terri die.
Someone here called them Death-o-cRATs. Very appropriate.
In hindsight, you may be very well right. Jeb can earn his wings if he bows before God instead of Caesar in this defining moment.
In that case, it's even worse than Dred Scott. "Only" 7 of 9 Justices ruled that no slave or slave descendant could ever be a citizen of the US.
This is the kind of stuff that heroes are made of.
These are the kinds of people in John Kennedy's "Profiles in Courage".
Go ahead Governor Bush. JUST....DO....IT!! (State Troopers to the rescue, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead).
Even Thomas and Scalia?
Also, the Governor can issue a stay of execution for a person on death row, so why can't Gov. Bush do anything about this? I am totally mind boggled here.
How can a judge trump the Governor? Have our laws gone nuts or what?
Details please
Someone posted a Supreme Court case in Missouri that was very similar to the Shiavo case, where the court sided with life. Scalia agreed with the ruling, but added that he didn't think that the court was qualified to make these decisions and that the states should pass laws covering the issue. (or something to that effect)
Ivan, I pray you are correct.
Prayers sent.
How true.
Excellent book. I just recently read it for the first time. I understand a sequel is in the works.
Here's what we do next:
A spark of hope. I could not get through to Governor Jeb Bush's #, so I called 1-850-488-5000 (Governor's Legislative Affairs Office) and said that Governor Bush has to put Terri in protective custody NOW. They said they agreed with me, and are working on it. I told them they better hurry up; this woman is going to die.
Please call the # (1-850-488-5000), AND Governor Jeb Bush, if you can get through, or send a FAX, and tell them to please expedite, a woman is dying. Pro-death Judge Greer ordered police throughout the state not to intervene. Bully!!
We have THREE judicial branches, and they are all equal; they should not let only ONE branch rule.
Here's an e-mail I justed received from RightMarch.com, and if anyone has a fax, that might be an easier way to get through to the Bushes. Fax # listed below. If you can't get through by phone, a fax is better than and e-mail, because papers will pile up.
So here's my info from RightMarch.com:
"This is OUTRAGEOUS. Governor Bush needs to step up to
the plate NOW, and exercise his constitutional and legal
authority NOW, before Terri dies. But he doesn't seem
to be willing to take that chance and do it... so we
thought we should help encourage him.
So once more, we need YOUR help.
We need EVERYONE READING THIS EMAIL to call Governor
Jeb Bush RIGHT AWAY, and ask him to do one simple thing:
"PLEASE EXERCISE YOUR LEGAL AUTHORITY, AND TAKE
TERRI SCHIAVO INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY RIGHT AWAY."
That's all we're asking you to do. Just call Gov. Bush
NOW and beg him to save Terri's life.
TAKE ACTION: PLEASE call Governor Jeb Bush's office NOW
at 850-488-4441 (or fax him at 850-487-0801), asking him
to exercise the executive powers he ALREADY HAS, and take
custody of Terri Schiavo to save her from being starved
to death.
We've already met one-on-one with Gov. Bush's General Counsel
lawyers, showing them point-by-point exactly why the Governor
DOES have those powers right NOW. On Thursday, we're also
bringing in Alan Keyes and Larry Klayman to try to meet with
the Governor and urge him to take Terri into protective
custody. Call Gov. Bush NOW and ask him to USE his legal
powers to save Terri's life. You can also e-mail him at
jeb@myflorida.com .
You can also call his brother, President George W. Bush, at
202-456-1414 (or fax him at 202-456-2461). Leave a message
for him that he AND his brother both have the authority to
use the police services at their disposal to take Terri into
protective custody, restore her food and hydration, and
arrest anyone who would interfere. You can also e-mail him
at president@whitehouse.gov .
For the sake of Terri's life, we CANNOT afford to wait while
the courts bicker over jurisdiction -- and we CANNOT let
little two-bit judges order the Executive branch to not do
their duty."
For Greer to deny DCF access to her records is just one more nail in his coffin along with Felos -- they are hiding something here and bet a thorough investigation will reveal Terri is not the only victim from these two vultures.

have you seen this information that kcvl found last night on the Dr that Geer relied his decision from ?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1369378/posts?page=138#138
Dr. Ronald Cranford
In published articles, including a 1997 op-ed in the MinneapolisSt. Paul Star Tribune, he has advocated the starvation of Alzheimers patients. He has described PVS patients as indistinguishable from other forms of animal life. He has said that PVS patients and others with brain impairment lack personhood and should have no constitutional rights. Perusing the case literature and articles surrounding the right to die and PVS, one will see Dr. Cranfords name surface again and again. In almost every case, he is the one claiming PVS, and advocating the cessation of nutrition and hydration.
