Clearwater, Florida - Judge George Greer admits there was an error in fact in the 2000 trial that established Terri Schiavo;s "right to die."When a family friend claimed a 19-year-old Terri was upset that right to die icon Karen Ann Quinlan's parents removed her from life support, the Judge discounted the testimony, reportedly because the Judge said Quinlan died in 1976.
Quinlan was taken off life support in 1976, but died in 1985. A technical error, yes. But Wednesday afternoon, Judge Greer ruled it was not enough to affect the outcome of the 2000 lawsuit that held Terri would not want to be kept alive with severe brain damage.

Yep, and we even give murderers on death row more chances than we give Terri Shiavo. Like Michael Savage said tonight...I feel like I am witnessing death in slow motion. We all criticized the German citizens for doing nothing about the slaughter of millions of Jews....yet here we all sit, doing nothing to rescue ONE person, Terri Shiavo. I am ashamed and sickened. God help us all.

For a judge hearing the Schiavo case to be ignorant about the Quinlan case (even aside from the clear mistake he made in his decision regarding the dates) is preposterous. The whole point of the Quinlan case was that her parents had petitioned for (and received) the legal authority to remove her from a ventilator, but steadfastly insisted that her feeding tube must remain in place when Karen remained alive against everyone's expectations. That's why she lived for nine years after her family "pulled the plug."
The lady will die but a murder investigation is called for!!

Complete utter bulshit. Terri Schaivo is not on 'life support' ie: she needs help to breathe and keep her heart pumping - she is being fed thru a tube, because it is more convinient for her adulterous 'husband' and her so-called 'care giver's'. Terry Schaivo is not in a 'care' facility, she is in a death facility. The hospice she is in is dedicated to the end of life, not to the support or continuation of life. Some of these assholes would condemn a person like Jim Rob. because "they wouldn't want to live that way" - and I agreee - I wouldn't want to live that way either, but I support that person's life, and their right to life, no matter how dismal it seems to an outside observer. I wouldn't want to be in Jim's shoes for a minute, but look at what we have here. The only reason we have Free Republic is because of one man's beliefs, conviction, and energy, and all of the folks that get together on FR, because Jim Rob KEEPS it here. That's Jim, John, and the rest that keep this site running.

Somebody posted on a thread a day or two ago something that says it to me; If we have a cat or dog that the county or state says is unwanted, a stray, and they are willing to kill it, all you have to do is go to the animal shelter and say "no, don't kill it, I will take him home and take care of him".
Terry Schindler has that. Her parents will go to the end of the earth to keep her. I really have to wonder what is the intense, burning desire on the part of her 'husband' and judge Greer to murder her.
There is so much doubt in Terry Schindler's case, it really makes me doubt the the motivation of the Judge (greer) and the suppposed 'loving' husband that are hell bent and dedicated to slowly murdering her.
I would challenge anyone to go without food or water for 24 hours, let alone the six days that she has gone through at this point.

This is just unbelieveable. They have overturned convictions based on a technicality but this is okay? The more I read about this Judge the more I am convinced that his strings are being pulled by Felos. They underestimated the American people in this case IMHO. They will pay before this is said and done!
There are many things the judge can't do that he has done. The Florida Courts have a pattern of ordering Executives not to obey the law and threatening them with the specter of contempt.

Yours is as good as any other. Personally I think one could also make a case that it's related to abortion. The first point that had to be proven is that Terri would not want to be kept alive but we never see that debated. What we hear is about her state, PVS, brain dead, no quality of life, etc. It's the same "blob of cells" argument I have heard my whole life from pro-choice advocates.
IMO .. This Judge is a walking talking conflict of interest and should be throw off the case
The Schindlers' attorneys have been lukewarm while Felos is white hot. Of course who had the greater finances, is obvious.

I believe he is being very deliberate and will withold judgement until Terri is either safe, or he has waited too long. I wish there were enough citizens on the scene who had the will to act. If there were, they could do it peacefully and with enough numbers, occupy that hospice and bring along medical people trained to take care of her.
Jeb Bush needs to make that unnecessary immdediately. He has already indicated he had the power and legal authority to do so...he needs to use it now, tonight.

When you figure out why they are siding with this judge, the NY Times, CBS, ABC, etc., please ping me because it doesn't make one bit of sense to me. Today I saw the National Enquirer as a source to defend the side of the judge, et al.
The Schindler's attorneys are less than lukewarm -- hard to believe they didn't seek advice before taking the pleading to Federal Court this week. Some Freepers that saw the pleading said it stood no chance -- it was the wrong thing to go after for relief.
