I have always been bothered by the 'election' process of judges. While candidates of other public offices are under microscopic scrutiny as to their values, political leanings, and qualification, judges on the ballot are virtually ghosts, with no campaigning, no media coverage, and barely a suitable resume in the election pamphlets. In many cases they run unopposed. Voters have little information to base a vote on.

I don't claim to know the 'right' solution, but me thinks the public should not have to vote on judicial candidates sight unseen.

I wonder just how many of the very same people who are voting to let Terri starve to death would have voted the same way if it had been Christopher Reeve's wife had chosen to do so!! You would have seen these death-merchants doing everything in their power to get the wife's custodial powers removed.

The question is, what next? The media, in it's sinister, hideous snare, is casting this as a "right to die" issue. The very phrase "Right to die" implies the notion that at some point, everyone has the right to commit suicide or refuse preventative treatments. This is a "right to life" issue. There IS no "right to die" in the constitution. DOES NOT EXIST. There IS, however, a RIGHT TO LIFE, liberty, and due process...

The media usurps and bastardizes even the constitution from under our noses.

That's why we have to pray. We wouldn't need miracles if the world were as it should be. Pray, Freepers, for a miracle to save Terri's life. I pledge not to give up in my heart or in my prayers as long as Terri is still alive. I am not making a case for why there objectively hope; rather, I am calling upon God to intervene where there seems to be no hope. Anyone join me in this? I would feel better if I knew others were refusing to resign themselves, were continuing to pray that Terri will be rescued.

Don't forget Jodi's mom, Eleanor Centonze.

I understand she died in their home, and they may have even "helped her" along (?)
That has been posted here on more than one occasion.

It has also been posted here that she stood guard at Terri's bed the last time around in October of 2003, to make sure that nobody tried to feed her or give her water. Then she came down with (or already had?) an illness, and died not too long after.

I would like to find more documentation on this.
So far, all I've seen is what has been posted here.

You assume that those are the only choices, and they are not.

"It would not surprise me if this case made it to the Supreme Court. And there they would have to move quickly(for a change). But, I don't have a clue how they would rule."

In my opinion, the SCOTUS won't rule at all. They're more likely to simply refuse to hear it, especially if the 11th agrees with the previous federal judge.

They do not have to consider any case whatsoever, except in a few instances laid out in the Constitution. This case does not fit any of those categories, as far as I can tell.

I would love to know what a "spouse" has to do to be removed as a guardian. Does having children with someone else count, does attempted murder of your wife count? What count here in Fla! I don't get it.

By the way, where IS Christopher Reeves' wife in all of this? Where are the FEMINAZIS when a WOMAN is being deprived of the right to CHOOSE by a MAN who has abandoned her for another woman?

As long as that woman breathes I will not cease hope. I am praying right alongside you for that miracle.

I believe the 11th Federal appeals court will let stand the lower court ruling. And therefore I believe Terri is gone.

From what I have been hearing that will take some time. In the meantime I think they will say that the feeding tube must be reconnected until such a ruling on the lower courts standing takes place. Which could take up to two years.

With that aside, I think that it's worth noting that this "passion play", this good vs. evil real life drama that is unfolding before us comes at the time right before Easter. This fight for the life or death of someone. With one side with their thumbs up and another with their thumbs down.

From what I have seen, read and heard of this woman she is almost childlike and innocent. If her parents that brought her into this world want to care for her why kill her? Why murder her? And it is murder.

But if the state insists that she die and that's OK why not hand her "husband" a knife and say "go ahead". It's the same thing, isn't it? Likely less painful actually. Because starving her to death is the slowest act of violence. A wretched thing. But I bet someone would put it on pay-per-view TV if they could make a buck.

The Democrats and others can play G-d. If the Democrats want to be the party of the grim reaper that's their choice. Ghouls.

this is a law enforcement case, where is law enforcement?

According to Bobby Schindler, Florida state law has a 4 year statute of limitations on attempted murder.

I am praying hard myself. When all hope seems lost I just seem to pray harder. For Terri, our nation, our kids and future generations and myself, too. This is a chilling event and I believe it is a definite spiritual battle.

Nothing matters to the courts in Florida but the legal, binding marriage between Terri and Michael. He gets the last call. If this were Texas, for example, the hospital would get the last call. Different states have different laws, and the HINO has positioned himself perfectly. You've got to give him credit.

Okay, so if the 11th Circuit hears it, all they will do is kick it back down to Judge Wittless in Tampa and tell him "Listen to the case." Is that right? Or can the judges in Atlanta hear the case?

They can order the feeding tube restored while the case goes through the Federal Courts. The Clinton Judge could have stilled ruled the way he did, but ordered the feeding tube restored while the case was appealed. I bet he got a call from Hillary. President Bush needs to issue an Executive Order to save Terri. It’s like the people who knows this is Murder are "Washing" their hands like Pontius Pilate. Sure, the Republics passed a new law for Terri, buy its not enough.

The leftists amaze me - I thought they would have made Terri a poster person for fetal stem cell research to restore her brain. /sarcasm
