I believe the 11th Federal appeals court will let stand the lower court ruling. And therefore I believe Terri is gone.

I would like to take a moment to consider what should be done when she dies. The state attorney general or distric attorney must take this case.

Now comes a nurse who says she charted in Terri's hospital chart that Michael Shiave canceled physicians orders, intimidated the nurses, says she found Terri diaphoretic after MS went into her room, found an insulin needle and syringe and injection sites on Terri's body, then informed her supervisor of this activity. There were reported comments of MS about "When is the b*tch gonna die?". All of these things were reported concurrent with the occurances, not years later if the nurse is to be believed.

Here is where I want to jump off and explain why this nurse is believable. She went to here supervisor and reported the intimidating activity and comments and insulin syringe with the patient diaphoretic and a very low blood sugar. No doubt the nature and expense to the hospital was large and the administration of the hospital was acutely aware of his attitude, demeanor, threats and were worried about a "mad" relative. Mad relatives bring lawsuits. If you see MS on Larry King, I believe one sees very quickly this man is a bully. This was preeminent in the mind of administrator and I surmise the administrator told the nurses' supervisor to get this nurse in check or she has to go. Ultimately the nurse took this information to the police. She was ultimately fired for cause (probably alledging violation of privacy of medical records). That would be the dynamics of the concerned nurse, supervisor, and administrator of the facility.

There seems to be so many mitigating factors, I do not see how a judicial ruling can fail to take these things into account.

This is a Scott Peterson redux with variation of tools and techniques. But let us make no mistake, this is an extremely suspicious set of circumstances and needs to have criminal investigative analysis applied. What if the nurse retained the syringe and MS fingerprints are on it, or his DNA? I won't go on, but you see this might put the lie to michael shiavo and would serve to give life to the 11th to look at the facts, not just a judicial review which this last Federal judge obviously did.

I fear Terri is lost now. What will serve as greater tradgedy is if the capriciousness of the judiciary is exposed, and it is allowed to continue in this vein, no one is safe.

Not just the dems. Remember, several Republicans voted against this too--and many who call themselves conservatives and/or Republicans right here on Free Republic are working towards her ultimate death--even if they do try to couch it in more acceptable terms, such as "sanctity of marriage" and "states rights"--to name a couple of them. On the other hand, I noticed quite a few dems voting for the bill Sunday night. I applaud them.

I don't understand this 'husband' Michael ....he is going to go through letting her starve like this,....NOT divorce her and NOT give the parents the chance to do their tests (even though I believe their futile).....and he expects to have a clear conscience? He is going to be hated by so many people all over this country....I think he's foolish to go through with this at this stage.....people are not going to forgive or forget him.....I woudln't want to be him for the rest of his life....what a fool.

He can anull the marriage. The point is there are two marriages involved, one the church recognizes and one recognized by the State of FL. Just as a State recognizes the dissolvement of a marriag through divorce and the church doesn't. It's the same in reverse.

Hey, Contempt, any chance you will be packing up your kit bag of lame MSM opinions and moving back to DU anytime soon?

I have read the published opinions in this matter. Have you?

Isn't it a shame that I have been here for 6 years and you can't call me a troll just because my opinions do not mesh with yours?

Exactly, they call it their "libertarian" side and stress that the "government has no business in family matters." Well, when was murdering one's spouse by judicial decree a "family matter." Or they ask, "Who's gonna pay for Terri's care?" The American people as a whole are at best asleep at the switch or at worst sick themselves.

Good point.

Out of one side of their mouths these death cultists profess to despise "statism" and delight to trumpet their reverence for personal liberty, but out of the other side of their mouths they demand that the state give Michael Schiavo special license to deprive his innocent wife of her personal liberty with extreme and utter prejudice.

The Schiavo torture-murder is a wholesale repudiation of every libertarian principle in the libertarian holy writ.

And I hope I never believe it is right to starve someone to death.

Well...that's done every day...when it's the consensus of the family or a living will is made up......

I fear you are right again.
Laura Ingraham now reading transcripts from nurse in the 90's who cared for Terri very revealing. Michael was, is a dirtbag.Care was ordered but never delivered.Michael killed her chances, he in essence, ordered her death.

Terri spoke on a regular basis, said mommy, help me, accd. to Laura now on the air.

It appears as if the People (Fox News Polls) and their Federal Courts have spoken, so as to proclaim that It is not inhumane to starve a person (Terri Schiavo) to death and it is not inhumane to deny hydration to a person for whatever amount of time is required to cause that person to die. In the olden days, this would have been called murder, but in 2005-speak, it is called something else. So much for "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness......."

Since the enlightened Federal Courts and "the People" have now ruled this way in the matter of Terri Schiavo, and, as the Supreme Court has to date chosen to give its assent by refusing to hear the case, then there should be no problem with denying food and water to Prisoners on Death Row until such time as they shall graduate from the physical dimension. Obviously, since it is not cruel and unusual punishment to kill Terri by this method, it cannot be "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" to end the lives of Death Row murderers and rapists by the same method.

I look forward to hearing the supportive comments on Fox News and I will actually buy a "New York Times" on the day that they run an editorial supporting the use of "Food and Water Denial" as a humane way to kill the Death Row inmates.

Sigh .......

This case represents far mor serious consequences than we can even begin to imagine. It started with the killing of the unborn, and now this.

The devaluation of human life has been the point of initiation in the decline of every major civilization in the history of man.

I fear we are in for a very rough ride ahead, and we will reap what we have sown.

Unfortunately this country has already accepted the system of "letting ONE individual determine the fate of another." That's what abortion is as another Freeper pointed out to me the other day. If Terri were to be saved, this would upset the apple cart of the left in lots of ways.

The problem here is that it takes time to review the materials, and the laws (all of them, not just "Terri's Law"), unfortunately, prohibits action in either direction without review.

While I applaud the decision by Congress and the President, I fear it comes too late to make a decision. Common sense and morality may say to do one thing, but the law (collectively as a whole) cannot.

For this same reason, the president or Gov. Bush cannot charge in and take custody of Terri, as much as we would all like that to happen. The precedent THAT would set would be frightening indeed.

One thought has crossed my mind...why doesn't the president issue an "executive order." As I understand executive orders, they essentially mean a law means this because "I, the President of the United States, says it does."

If nothing else, it could get the tube reinserted.

I wouldn't starve my dog, much less my daughter. For those who feel it is moral to do so, I would ask where your morals come from.

One judge making a bad decision is one thing...but when you have five separate courts reach the same conclusion, then the conspiracies need to be laid to rest.

It's easy to get caught up in the legalistic minutiae of this case. But the facts remain: An innocent disabled woman is being starved to death by court order. This is neither right nor moral no matter how many judges tell you it is.

The fact that so many judges have failed to stand up and say "We do not starve people to death in this country" is a commentary on the extent of the moral rot in our judicial system. Don't forget, the Democrat party in this country thinks that being a devout, pro-life Catholic disqualifies you from serving in the judiciary.

My greatest fear is that if the legislative and executive branches of government don't stand up to this judicial tyranny...and soon...there will be bloodshed.

It's so sad. We can point to the truth, but the murderer has the law on his side and the law is making damn sure that the law wins.

The MSM has deliberately lied about the facts of this case, and so the public has partial excuse.

You are right, though, the MSM cannot be entirely blamed. Our personal natural checks and ballances should be naturally inclined towad Life. If they were that would serve to limit the effectiveness of the propaganda of the MSM. Clearly more Americans than not are inclined toward death.

They'll deny it, but why else so passionate that her life must end NOW? If this was really about dry matters of law and fact, that could be resolved at a later time. The case would not be hurt by allowing her to live during that interim. But, no. She must die now. They are arguing for Death.

I can only pray God will intervene, because I don't believe Americans as a majority any longer respect Life.

You are correct, he relied on the testimony of Michael Schiavo, Scott Schiavo and Joan Schiavo. Interesting, huh?
