This would set a precedent that no state court decision - even those on purely state matters - would ever be safe from the will of congress. And no family would ever be safe from the will of Congress. That's a really, really bad precedent. It means further erosion of the Constitution.
Sounds kinda like old George Wallace when the Federal Government stepped into desegregation of public schools.

If we fail this test of mercy and love, there will be no country under GOD protection anymore. There is a Angel poised with a flaming sword, and judgement and destruction of ungodly men will come by fire...it is written. We are surely running out of time.........
Elian Gonzales was cast ashore on Thanksgiving Day, 1999.
He was a gift from God.
That gang of side show freaks called the Clinton Administration did not recognize the gift.

We are running out of chances to show the good that once was America.

That is what I thought the drill was. But, I did not hear an objection. Did anyone?

It's heartbreaking to hear over and over on the news about Terri's mom pleading for her daughter's life. So if you haven't done it yet, call your congresspersons and senators and tell them to vote for the "Incapacitated Persons Legal Protection Act."
Please DO IT NOW!!

Give Frist some space. I think he is going to get it done on the judical as well. Maybe this Terri issue will jump start him.

Do you prefer a lethal injection then? I dont know the answers to this. In a positive note, the fact we are all talking about this issue is good. Just who has standing in this situation? The parents or spouse, child etc..In 1992, we disconnected our son from life support. If this law that they are trying to pass was the law at the time, my father, mother or siblings can go to court and stop us, the parents from making that terrible decision. This is the only point I am trying to make.

Party of the little guy, well, except for the elderly, the disabled and infirm, minorities, Christians, and those who are still alive. They should adopt a new slogan.
"The Democrat Party, the party of death."

Rats - THE PARTY OF DEATH. Wait till courts start offing grandma because she has no more to offer as a productive "Member of the Whole of Humankind."
To: mzbzybee
Take heart..there are others who agree with you. One can still hope to have a discenting view without name-calling.
The Federal Govt. has no business in this. The day that door opens, we are all at risk of losing our ultimate rights to the state.

And to go on and trash the husband doesnt help either. As far as I know he has not really gone public. It is her parents who decided to have a pr war. We do not know everything!! In a ideal situation he would be at her bedside all the time. Real life does not work that way. From what I understand most of the money is gone anyway. You understand wrong. You need to do your homework. I would suggest you simply seach under "Terri" here on FR, and catch up. Don't believe the stuff that the liberal MSM is putting out there.

Ah, the Democrats.
Friends of the little guy. They should take heed of this warning, delivered a long time ago.

The Federal legislature has no business in this matter. It does when no one else is doing the right thing. They have every right to step in. They are at least accountable to the people.
Every body complains about how these people have too much power from the judiciary to the people in both houses.
Oh, I don't believe that. People complain about the judiciary when they run counter to American culture and legislate from the bench.
We are going to rue the day if this law passes.
LoL! Instead, we may see some sensible laws made.
Let her go. 19 judges have heard this case not one or two but 19!!!
Oh really? Name them and what did they specifically rule on in the Terri Schiavo case? They could have followed bad law that needs to be changed.
The spouse is the next of kin period and he is not the one who brought this out.
He is the principle character who is making the decisions.
You are full of crap.
