Today we met in Fayetteville, NC to Freep a motley rabble of socialists, anarchists, Code Pink-os, and other throwbacks to the 60's! As usual, we were well outnumbered by their hordes of college students, aging hippies and other bused-in protestors, but we held our own as always.
Please post any reports and observations on this thread only.

Thank you, AQ -- I now have you perfectly matched with face and name! And Tax-Chick, you and your daughter did sing beautifully!

After-action Report:
Although the news claimed that we had only 50 people, we actually had over 100 people in attendance. Most of the folks on our side were Fayetteville locals.
The great "unwashed" were, as usual, unwashed. We didn't see any of them eating out of garbage cans this time, but some of them did come over and try to steal the "tasty kakes" that Doctor Raoul brought. What a motley crew: old hippies, grown children of hippies and (believe it or not) they've now started producing hippy grand-babies. Don't dispair, though, in 1970 they managed to turn out about 25,000 acid-washed freaks at a time: now all that reproducing has resulted in a measley 2,500.
Doctor Raoul WAS the show! What a wealth of knowledge he is! We have dubbed him "Official Historian", or rather Doctor of history. Doctor Raoul gathered more than 30 pages of information about the commie organizers and shared his research with our side. Everyone was armed with knowledge when Susie "Medea" Benjamin popped over to put on her "shocked and dismayed" face while admiring our "Code Pink kills soldiers by giving $ to terrorists" MOAB. She appeared ready to debate our claim, but we shouted her down. Clearly, she was attempting to "incite us to riot", a felony I believe, so the Police Officers urged her back into her pen.
One of our newer Freepers, Alia (?), had a sign that said "Code Pink is Ms. Informed." Our blonde friend Medea didn't get it and complimented the sign. *Chuckle*
BTW, We had plenty of food, (for our people) thanks to Taxchick, Raoul and many other fine FReepers.
Channel 14 News enjoyed the Taxchickadees and got lots of great footage of all of us. They have been repeating the footage for several ours, giving us equal coverage. That must be freaking out the commies completely!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Signs that caused police officers to nearly lose their "objectivity":
"Feeling Depressed about recent electoral losses? Call 1-800-BUSHWON"
"So you're an anti-war protestor, Isn't that precious?"
"82nd airborne: Protecting your whiney hiney since 1917"
"Woodstock (with an arrow directing them to the 'other side')"
"Even Hillary knows it's the wrong time to withdraw our troops"

So that's what you call my ear-splitting yell. Well, now, thanks to Dr. Raoul, I can make it even louder the next time. Whoa, doggies!!! Won't that be something? I just about gave myself a headache today. LOL

And secondly, I led the national anthem (a little screechy on the top notes) with help from the stunning TaxDeduction1. (Her hair color is natural, btw.) Obviously, you have experience with people asking about TaxDeduction1's phenomenal hair coloring. Natural. Thank the Lord she ain't stupid, going punk, and thinking of going "pink". She's got hair color millions of women spend beaucoup bucks to come "close" to achieving. Wow, what a gift. MMmm.
Please give my best regards to your beloved Net-Kight; you have a beautiful brood and family. A good family.
And yes, the only hazard to bringing children to our events -- come from the pro-abortion side. They have little to no regard for the respect of the wee ones.
My children are grown. But years ago, did a protest North of San Francisco, and an 80 year old woman flipped the bird to one of my daughters, who was maybe 8, at the time. My daughter's response was to tell her what an ugly finger she had. Life in the SF Bay Area trains conservative kids, fast.

Belly-dancer trivia :-). Maybe the next FReep will be warmer ...
Earplugs are good for these situations.

A couple of the "great unwashed" got in a fight amongst themselves.

Ah, most probably a 'purge' of the anarchists, as Communists have always tended to do. :)

Just saw the interviews with Ann & Kristinn (sp) on the local nightly news! Anyone else see it?
To: Alia; Anoreth
It was a great experience for us. Safe enough, behind the police line - except for Pat's wandering under the horses' hooves!
Anoreth (my oldest: short girl, light red hair, blue jacket with NRA patch) really got into the confrontational spirit. She'll be ready for Protest Warrior once she learns some martial arts.
James slept part of the way home, so we can't go to bed until he gives up. We had to give him a bath as soon as we arrived here, because he had pine straw in his diaper :-).

A video link to their website would be *deeply* appreciated. We don't have TV reception (even if your "local" were our "local" as it were.)

That's Alia on the left, TaxDeduction1 (of the TaxRelief clan) in the middle, and me on the right in the opera-singer pose. In the larger pic, the next girl left (pretty blonde in red sweater) led the Pledge of Allegiance.

There was a seventh bus that showed up at the end, but it had very few people in it.
