An attorney for Terri Schiavo said the severely brain-damaged woman cried and yelled out that she wants to live after being told today her life-sustaining feeding tube was about to be removed by court order.
Barbara Weller was in Terri Schiavo's room at the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla., when the encounter took place, according to activist Randall Terry, who spoke with WorldNetDaily from outside the building as demonstrators continued a vigil.
If true, the report apparently refutes the court's finding that Terri Schiavo is in a "persistant vegetative state" and cannot currently express her wishes. Her husband, Michael Schiavo, contends she had indicated she would not want to live in such a condition, but parents Robert and Mary Schindler dispute that and suspect he is responsible for the 1990 incident in which oxygen to her brain was temporarily cut off, causing severe brain damage.
Weller essentially told Terri Schiavo, "You had better say you want to live or they will kill you. Just say you want to live."
Schiavo responded with a drawn out, "IIIIII," then screamed out "waaaaaaaa" so loudly that a police officer stationed outside the room came in.
The officer then ordered Weller removed from the room, according to Terry.
The event was witnessed by Terri Schiavo's sister Suzanne Vitadamo and Suzanne's husband Michael.
"I talked to Suzy and Michael, and they both said it was unbelievable," Terry said. "It was very articulate, for Terri, but they also say this is normal [for her to communicate]."
Terry explained the family says Schiavo often is talkative, though similar to a 10-month-old.
"The words usually are not discernable, but she's responsive to commands, uses slow diction and her voice lilts to show emotion and context," he said.
Weller teared up after hearing Schiavo respond today, Terry said, and indicated Schiavo was crying.
Terry has established a website, helpterri.com with information about how to get involved, including phone numbers of lawmakers and details of a rally and lobby-training sessions to be held next week in the Florida capital, Tallahassee, beginning Monday.
"We need people there Monday night, people who have never lobbied before, to come, and we're going to be begging the [Florida] Senate to get its act together," Terry said.

Terri's sister told the story tonight on Fox.
No, doctors won't say she is brain dead because she can breathe and the brain directs the lungs. One of the most easily surmountable arguments is that she is brain dead. Her brain is directing functions that keep her alive.
Also, why would they need to give her sedatives while starving her if she was brain dead? Because they expect she will feel excrutiating, noticeable pain. Recognition of pain and response to it is a brain function.
This must be the biggest conspiracy ever.
We have the Govenor of Florida, the President of the United States, members of Congress all saying and/or trying to prevent this removal of her feeding tube but yet it goes forward.
How can this be if all that is said in Terri's defense is true.
Why would all these people with the exception of maybe her husband give one hoot as to whether she lives or dies?
This hole case is crazy.

Just because her husband wants her dead all these people go along with it. Doctors, layers, judges...for what reason?

You truly don't know?? Michael Schiavo has total control of Terri's environment. He has forbidden the very thing you suggest. The Schindlers once sneaked around and got something on tape. Michael was so angry, he banned them from Terri's room for many weeks. Since then, the Judge himself has ordered that the Schindlers better not ever repeat THAT offense again. Or else they would not like the result...

If the judge would have allowed her to have an MRI and CAT scan.....the Doctors could have made a proper and definite diagnosis, but...he wouldn't.
All I can say is "amen".
It is my understanding that Michael Schiavo's attorney, Mr. Felos is part owner of the hospice in which Terri is kept. Is it any wonder that ALL of the staff is loyal to Michael and the attorney? Michael has had staff fired because they tried to do some rehab with Terri and tried to teach her to swallow so she could get off the tube feedings. Other saw what happened to those folks and got the message right quick. They don't cross Michael because they want to keep their jobs or be able to work elsewhere in their chosen professions without fear of reprisal.

Most neurologists will tell you it is CRIMINAL to NOT get an MRI and PET test before calling for a brain-injured person's death.
How can you know that unless you have been in the room with Terri to see exactly what she can and cannot do?
because they have been forbidden by the court and her loving husband (who just happens to be living with another woman with whom he has two children - a catholic woman who can't marry him in the church if he has a living or divorced spouse. no conflict of interest here...move along)
After the first couple years, after dear hubby successfully sued the hospital on charges and got well over a million dollars toward her treatment - he cut off all treatment and used, if you care to research it, half or more of the money in his legal battle to kill her - instead of allowing rehab treatment, indeed, even medical treatment when she got a cold or a urinary infection - and no dental treatment, no wheelchair or out of the the tiny room allowed...no stimulation. ... and has her in a hospice facility (five years now) which is for terminal patients expected to die within 6 months....She was not dying, was not terminal...

there is also the reported problem of ex rays about a year after she was stricken that showed fractures, and injuries to her neck consistent with strangling injuries - which could also cause loss of oxygen, and brain damage....
Now if that were the case, then he might just have an interest in seeing that she is not able to tell what happened originally....Else why wont he just divorce her and let the family take care of her, as they have begged him to do?
Oh, and then there's there's the report that he never "remembered" that she once told him she wouldn't want to live in that condition - until some years after she was in the hospital - and after he had won the money to take care of her....nothing here, move along
My mom told me tonight that when dad was at work today and saw this on the news about Terri's feeding tube being removed that he called home and THANKED my mother for not taking him off the ventilator when he was at death's door 6 years ago...I'll bet people everywhere are writing out their wishes after watching this case. I am praying hard for God's intercession in this case. May the Healing hand of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon Terri and that she would be able to feed herself and speak out in defense of her own life! My dad is alive and well today because faithful prayers went out on his behalf-let's all fervently pray our hearts out for a miracle for Terri! THIS IS ONE POSITIVE THING WE CAN ALL DO that has more power than all the other things together!
