A mentally disabled woman whose court ordered starvation-execution began Friday attempted to contradict her estranged husband's claim that she wants to die hours before her feeding tube was disconnected, an eyewitness is claiming.
Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, told reporters Friday afternoon that during her visit earlier in the day she told Ms. Schiavo:
"Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' - all of this will be over."
According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.
"'I waaaaannt . . .' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.
"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Terry said, according to Weller's account.
At that point police ejected Weller, he said.
You're right. She is breathing without the help of a respirator. She is NOT on any life support. A feeding tube is NOT life support; it is nutrition for a living, breathing himan being.
I would have used an open-mic cell phone talking to a secure recording device.

With leadership comes accountabilty. Political leaders in America will not be able to escape that fact after Terri is dead.
Then tell me, where were the gutless dem/libs on this one? Did anyone from the dem/lib side speak up for this young woman? Where were all the dem/libs like hillere, and pelosi and boxer and schumer and all that crowd? They sure as hell were pulling for the terrorists at Gitmo weren't they? Making sure we didn't hurt them?
Why didn't any one of them have the guts to step up to the plate in defense of this young woman? Where were they? They are after all the party of the downtrodden are they not? Aren't they the ones that are always trying to reach out to those in need? Yeah, only when it is campaign time. Words, words and more words.

I just heard the CNN medical hack,Gupta or whatever trying to convince the public that it is not really painful to die of starvation and dehydration He said that with brain injuries it's not really clear how much they can feel pain,if at all, but in a worse case scenario when they remove the feeding tube they'll just start giving her painkillers instead through another tube.
Imagine the disconnect of this guy...

This kind of talk reminds me of the crazy over the top rhetoric about the Elian Gonzalez case.
If we asked her mother "Would say anything right now if you thought it would save Terri's life?" exactly how long do you think she'd think it over?
I just saw the Schiavo family attorney live out in front of the facility where she is. While he argued fervently that she should be allowed to live, he did NOT report that she said anything like this today. I can't think it slipped his mind.
Whatever President Bush or Governor Bush do is never correct as far as some are concerned. D@mned if they do, and d@mned if they don't.
Blaming the wrong people does not help Terri's cause. It's like they singlehandedly got us where we are.
I think the abortion issue throws them over the edge, the libs...they don't have a leg to stand on, and they could fight better fights if they would just say no to partial birth abortion for a start.
Perhaps you are confusing my statements with someone else's. I have doubts that she is in fact able to respond. If this report is accurate and she really did respond with a "I waaaaaaa", I don't think it's out of the question for someone who has been lying there like that for 15 years to feel that enough is enough. All the time people say, "I don't want to end up like that. Please don't keep me hanging on" and that statement is not usually considered unreasonable. Why would it be so wildly outside the realm of possibility and "chilling" to consider that she may just want "out"?
I believe the three doctors that claimed her to be PVS examined her for less than an hour apiece. A proper diagnosis of PVS would require much more of an exam like that, since someone who is cognitive 1% of the time and vegetative 99% of the time is not legally PVS.
Indeed, knowledge that someone is cognitive 1% of the time is sufficient to prove that someone is not PVS, regardless of what they do the other 99% of the time.
Perhaps most interesting, though, is Michael's refusal to allow any sort of tangible recording of Terri's actions which could be examined by impartial observers. Such refusal only makes sense if such recordings would be detrimental to his case.

As if that makes it somehow okay. They'll agree to let her have some painkillers while they're killing her! I bet they can sleep on that one!
OK, if it is true that the judge has barred an audio or video recording of her, then I'm now 100% on the side of the parents.
