A spokesperson for Michael Schiavo says Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed Friday with Michael in attendance.
He says a prayer service was held first, and that Michael was emotional and crying, saying he wanted to put the situation behind him.
Terri Schiavo's parents, the Schindlers, visited with Terri Friday morning, prior to the tube's removal.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer denied two U.S. House of Representative emergency motions Friday, which allowed the tube's removal.
The first motion was to intervene in the case for the House Committee on Government Reform and the second motion was to push the date back nine days so it could conduct what it calls a field investigation concerning the healthcare of Schiavo.
A neurologist appeared at Terri Schiavo's Pinellas Park hospice center Friday with a TV screen to show video of patients he treated that were in worse condition than Schiavo and got better.
Our courts are out of control and are turning monstrous. In just a few years humans will be euthanized if they can be deemed unfit to serve society. What is truly frightening to me is that families who agree with death by dehydration already euthanize family members without it ever making the news. Twenty five years ago when I started in the Nursing field this would have seemed cruel and unthinkable.
either this report is false or the one on WND that claims that congress saved her is.
Congress issued the subpoena and Judge Greer disregarded it and ordered the tube removed.
Gonna get interesting. Greer is in Contempt of Congress AND had evidence in the case destroyed.
Wow. I don't want to read too much into your comment but are you actually advocating the killing of the judge?
The more I find out about corruption locally the more I think the states need to be reined in by the feds.
Behold the relationship between Schiavo and a sheriff:

I feel the need to jump in here, in response to this post about Terri's wishes. It is true that we don't know what her wishes are right now, not even what they were when she was healthy unless we believe her husband (who I think has another agenda since he hasn't acted as a husband should). But, even if Terri had said on one occasion that she wouldn't want extreme measures taken to prolong her life, I have a personal story here about how that can change drastically once a person reaches what could be the end of their life:
My sister was a neurologist in Texas and therefore, treated many people with insidious, dignity-robbing diseases. She recommended to those that had were losing their ability to breathe on their own that the quality of life on a ventilator was not good and she recommended against her patients getting one. (Not that that was her decision to make, but I guess some patients asked her.) Anyway, she came down with ALS, which progressed very rapidly. When the time came that she couldn't breathe on her own any more, she chose to be on a ventilator immediately, without even a second thought.
The moral of my story is that when the end is near, I believe that most of us will want to fight for every second we have left and do all we can to stay here. Even if we've made a living will and even if we thought at one time that we didn't want to go through the indignities of being dependent. (Cases involving excruciating pain might be different.) My experience with my sister has totally changed my opinion on this isssue - and I am very sad that Terri is being killed. I am extremely sad for what her parents - I can't even imagine the emotional pain they are going through right now. Or how Terri's husband could be such a monster to Mr. and Mrs. Schindler, even IF he thinks he is doing what Terri would've wanted 2 decades ago.
Familiarize yourself with the concept of personal responsibility. It should be the individual, not the state, that determines these questions.
Amen, my dear.
"America just took one more step along the road to barbarism."
No MM, America just took one more step along the road OF barbarism.
I am not a Christian, but today, I believe I saw the face of the AntiChrist.
Wow, it's almost like you are starting to pick up on the fact that I said I.
Fair enough, I believe you should have that right to decide. I don't believe it is the right of the government though.
last time the tube had been removed for six days
I heard they were told to leave the room before the tube was disconnected.
That was Michael's story. Her parents deny this.
However.... there are people who have made statements/depositions about Terri responding to the kindness/tender mercies of those who tended her.
There are ALSO those who have talked of the distress/agitation of Terri , AFTER the whore-dog 'husband' was near her.
And just to set the record straight, r.e........her own parents for letting her live like that?? MAKE NO MISTAKE......it is NOT her parents who have made her live like this. THEY have fought to SPARE her from living this way. THEY have fought to provide her with the hope of rehab and improvement of her life. THEY have fought to regain their daughter, with NO MONETARY percs, so they can re-raise her, re-teach her just like when she was a little bitty toddler. THEY have an unconditional love.
"She has been a vegatable for 16 years "
There are medical professionals, including her doctors, who do not share that assessment. Tom DeLay, whom I would hope and think would not speak in an ill-informed manner, said that Terri is not being kept alive, but is in-fact alive.
As I understand, Terri is not require a breathing apparatus. If one can breathe on their own, it sure sounds like they are alive to me.
>Have you people considered that maybe Terri does not want to live like this???
Would you people want to live like Terri rest of your life? I sure would not.<
I don't think that anyone here "wants" to live like Terri. The difference is, some here believe that God never promised anyone on Earth an easy ride. If you end up in a state like Terri, then you have to truly give yourself over to God, who will not give you more than you can bear.
Look at this post (the URL from where it came is also below) and I think you can get a feel for Terri's desires:

PRESS RELEASE:
MARCH 18. 2005
2:00 PM EASTERN TIME
ATTORNEY BARBARA WELLER TOLD TERRI THAT THEY WERE GOING TO REMOVE HER FEEDING TUBE , TERRI BEGAN TO CRY AND TRIED TO SAY "I WANT TO LIVE" ATTORNEY WELLER SAID SHE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME CALMING TERRI DOWN.
Quote: Surely you can't favor the idea of empowering the government to decide when God has spoken.
If God does not want her dead then she will not die when the feeding tube is removed.
If I was a total veg and my wife knew I wanted the plug pulled but my mom fought it, then it seems to become a matter for the courts. That would be my mistake for not having a living will, which I don't.
